I don’t have any predictions on what he does, but he could probably make more money with NIL at UConn and be a star player, playing on TV twice a week. Versus toiling in obscurity in the G league.
This could be true but I know he was very close to leaving last year and I’ve always been under the assumption this is his last year

Another point of note? PC has English paid for 5 more years. Not sure how much a school like that could eat to cut him loose. They could be really bad for a while.

To be a little fairer it is a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty nice around outside around gametime. I’m gonna guess lots of people were out doing what they had to do.
Or maybe, like me, a lot of us actually went to the game. Great win, fun game. Good crowd. I was near a lot of UConn fans in the upper level behind UConn’s bench. It was a nice day. Monster game from Reed.

UConn fans stayed classy cheering the PC walk ons who scored.

Well he will be a pro I don't think that's a stretch, Joey C is a pro you play in Europe that's a pro league.
Unless you know he’s back a UConn. Then he would in fact not be a pro

Next year we'll see but he will be a pro eventually so by @Agent 0 word isn't wrong now he might have meant to say NBA then that's another thing.

st. johns had almost nothing out of conference last year. we have a couple good wins.
Win the next 2 regular season games at home, then this conversation is only about what single digit seed UConn gets

The calendar has turned to March and UConn has now looked much better for 2 games in a row, which is something that's always happened with Dan Hurley coached teams.

I know the competition hasn't been great the last 2 games, but these are decent teams and games we would have eked out a 6 point win a few weeks ago
That first Georgetown win they were up 18 and won by 8.

The first PC game was an absolute dogfight and UConn was down by 14.

If this team can stay off the 8/9 line, they can make some noise. After the NMSU game, Hurley teams always do better out of the BE than in it. They have the tools to beat a 2 seed, and if you get to the second weekend, who knows what the bracket looks like. This team is significantly better than, say, last year's NCSU team.

They can also lose in the first round.

Reed's emergence the last few games is the biggest thing going on right now. McNeeley back, Karaban out of his slump, a healthy Hassan Diarra, and Jaylen Stewart playing a solid and workmanlike 6th man, doing all the things that don't show up on the stat line, has UConn back in contention again. If we keep improving from here, anything could happen.
Stew had a solid, workmanlike game? What game did you watch? He was passive, took two bad threes, missed a couple of box outs that directly led to points, and was his typical self on D.

This week is the Reed I thought we would see, getting most of the minutes, after that first awesome game he had vs Memphis.

This week is also what I thought most games against the Big East also rans would look like this year. I guess better late than never.

Not really asking for more Mahaney but I will say that hesitation move he made on the drive where he got fouled was something I don’t see anyone else on the roster able to make.

On a side note, maybe it’s the resemblance, but RJ Luis is everything I thought we were going to get from Ross early this year after Hurley told us that “the light went on” for him followed by the statement that he would have started the first game of the year if not injured and then had a semi explosive effort in our second game. Not that I thought he would be BE POY like Luis will probably be, just the way he plays the game, especially on offense.

Ross never had the tools to be scorer and has next to no offensive game. Stewart does and he is the one I thought would have a great year but is just too passive and not doing enough when he is out there. Even Hurley mentiond in the pre-game presser that Stewart is a shot creeator but we haven't seen it this year enough. You can't just hang out at the 3 point line all game.

Do we want to win games or give experience. How much good will it do to play Nowell 8 minutes or less a game for 4,5 or 6 more games. That will prepare him better for next year ?

Think Mahaney will be a bigger plus when we get to the NCAA tourney and away from the Big East

We want to win and give experience. Something is better than nothing when it comes to minutes and it will give a young player hope that if his foot is in the door now that he can kick it open with improvement in the offseason.

Mahaney has been given a long runway (longer than he should’ve). We all wish he could contribute more, but he’s a junior and just not a good fit. I’d be ecstatic if proven wrong about AM, but you have to make tough decisions sometimes and look to other options.
