Not sure if y'all know, but the thing "the youths" have been doing on Twitter is listing "cults" in their states.

Anyway, thought this was mostly spot on

God, Apizza is definitely the most egregious.

I grew up in central MA between Worcester and Framingham. They were referred to as "grinders" for as long as I can remember. Just saying that the term is not exclusive to the Constitution State.

Moot. I've lived EOTR since I moved down here (part time for college in Storrs, Manchester, and East Hampton).

Here's another Connecticut cult: Those who recognize the State's deep divide in wanting to be included in two distinct geographic regions that neither region truly wants to include Connecticut.

I was in North Carolina years ago and asked someone where I could get a grinder. I drove ten miles to find out they sent me to a hardware store.

There was a "New Haven Style Pizza" place in DC that had various CT named pizzas ("The Merritt Parkway" etc). They had a pizza called "The Grinder" that, I kid you not, was meatballs, fried chicken (think: Chicken Parm Grinder), marinara, mozz.

What this place lacked in authenticity, it more than made up for in its taste resembling Dominos.

Where were all the whale fans when, you know, there was actually a team to be a fan of?

...and then he became August_West...

I was born in Tampa. I always found it funny that the farther north you go in Florida, the farther south you got.
Imagine what it's like in a real southern state..

This was actually a reference to something I've noticed that I find amusing:

People in Georgia love chiding people from NC as not being southern, especially in relation to UNC not being a southern school (the worst thing you can be in Georgia is a "basketball school") and it POs the NC people so much!

Without a doubt the biggest omission from the tweet is the "'I hate CT and can't wait to move away' but I've been saying that for a decade and still haven't moved" crowd.

Also, the "New Haven really isn't that bad of a city" crowd.

Grinder is used almost exclusively in the New Haven to Springfield corridor for a Sub.

If it's got meatballs and/or sausage, tomato sauce and cheese, it's a grinder.
If it's got cold cuts (even if heated up) it's a sub.
