OT: WBB UConn vs ND

But they missed the lay ups and had a chance to win still with under a minute left right? Who needs to help make that happen besides the players? Hey I like Geno but I’ve heard the Wooden chatter but John wasn’t around tonight. The fact he stayed in man was baffling as they scored at will. He gets as much as the players on this one sorry.

They missed the layup at the 1 minute mark and then fouled. Neither of those are on geno. That included FTs.

I don’t think danger intentionally fouled. Ofumbawle barely had control of the ball at any point during the time. It was fast and loose at best.

The problem with Geno is he never uses a bench last year he doesn't play Megan Walker you can't tell me she wouldn't have given them a spark off the bench, thats just one example Calhoun always used a bench hell Ollie used a bench.

The rebounding killed them. ND couldn't shoot for crap and it didnt matter.
Geno couldn't wait to rush thru the handshake line.
No doubt he lost some good one liners he planned on using if they had won.

This group has been rough in tight games. But UCONN's won plenty of tight big games over the years.

It's about execution with this group, and it comes from the PGs. I like Dangerfield and Nurse, but they are both steps down from elite PGs.

PG in women's ball is so critical.

The problem this year was a lack of depth and rebounding. Azura leaving early was a MASSIVE loss.

Ok he coached an excellent game my bad. Heck when the zone worked so well he probably thought about staying in it rather than letting them score all the time. Sorry Q I missed some things I guess.

And the next possession was the block by turner.

Right play by the players. Turner just made a great play.

One that should’ve been irrelevant because of the great play designs by geno to get them 79 layups

Yes the team that looked like ghosts the last 3 Final Fours would have been saved by one player.

They were getting killed on the boards in the zone. And again, make your layups and a lot of those points don’t happen.

Probably wouldve gotten destroyed against Baylor they easily look like the best WBB team since the Stewie led teams.

Oregon played like crap and was right there. Their star guard sucked down the stretch.

Tonight was the title game and once against Auriemma handed it over to Muffett.

He should be ashamed of himself.

Oh make no mistake about that I do give ND a better shot then I wouldve given Uconn ND players step up in the clutch uconn not so much.

Because his team missed 77 layups?

They are terrible. Losing in the national semis. Cancel the program.

What they really need is a tall, strong, good rebounding/shot blocker to complement Nelson-Ododa who presumably will keep improving. (Shoot 200 ft a day) They were really hurt inside tonight and in other games.more than anything. Players miss shots, but giving a good offensive opponent too many extra shots really hurts. If Walker is stuck again having to defend power forwards and being prime rebounder that’s not a good thing against better teams because I think it minimizes her strengths. The backcourt starters should be as good as any although Crystal didn’t have her best game tonight.

I suspect that good players will continue to come to play for Geno and if other talented players don’t want to play with PB in a few years they don’t.understand what she can do for them.

You’re forgetting he designed a defense to allow a lot of lay ups in the last 5 minutes too you neglect to discuss that. That’s actually part of coaching as crazy as it seems.
