OT: WBB UConn vs ND

I don't even know how this is possible, but I've watched maybe 10 UConn women games the past 15 years and they've lost like 9 of them. Meanwhile they've probably lost 15 games in that same time period.

Oh well.

Since I forgave Geno for all our past negative interactions and declared myself a fan it’s been straight downhill.

I watch very little but these players look really bad in comparison to players from UConn's past.
Has Geno won a title without a player of the year on the team? This team doesn’t have that transcendent talent.

Team just didnt look right all year, looked bad against Buffalo better against Lville the big lead helped them escape, against ND, couldn't afford to be sloppy at any moment of the game.

No way. Notre Dame was better. KLS kept them alive by getting hot.

Notre dame was lucky UConn miss so many easy layups. Most of them uncontested or lightly (at best) contested.

Even Collier missed a few

Three straight years of choke jobs.
Something about this senior class that was missing that grit. Dangerfield is also all over the place at the games end. Geno knows basketball probably more than any other human but I feel he needs to have a more reliable bench as it also looks like his teams get gassed physically and mentally in the final minutes of the season. The execution and alertness just wanes by the FF. The era may be over but not the dynasty. Next year will be a struggle but I thuthey may be tougher. They have ZERO rings!! What is the last senior class to say that?

The game was basically over the other way if KLS doesn’t miss those 2 layups

Dangerfield missed the iron on a lay up too. Hard to pin anything on KLS with 20 in the 2nd half. Problem is their PG is never good in crunch time. And she fouled when she didn’t have to with 35 seconds left down 3?

They looked like they weren’t coached well the last 2 plus minutes honestly.

They look bad compared to the likes of Maya Moore and Breanna Stewart, but those were also among the best women’s players ever.

I don’t watch them as much anymore, but it feels as though they’ve been good enough to win the past three years - and they’ve choked all three games. It seems like a pattern when Geno’s teams are forced to play close games.

Kid they just got the other day is the next superstar. They'll be "down" next year but should roll right back to the top after that.

He needs to be pissed like he was after the 2001 FF loss.

He was plenty pissed. The problem is the team was too nice. After MSU in 2017. After ND last year. There was no sense of purpose or vengeance like that 2002 team had (and no killer like Bird or Taurasi).

She missed 2 laughably easy layups, and a brutal turnover.

One layup and the turnover back to back. ND hit 3s.

That’s a 10 point swing.

I know her numbers are pretty good, but I really don’t like the way Dangerfield plays. She seems to make some of the worst turnovers at crucial moments.

That freshman guard could be special, though. I’m excited to see the type of player she becomes.

Geno and Jim still the best things that happened to UConn. Only thing that we missed on making UConn sports the GOAT is passing on Bellichick as our football coach in 1980

How long do you think he’s staying?

The game was lost with the missed layups and rebounding. Still, where was Crystal this game. Geno said at the beginning you have to value possessions and she jacked some early threes and made some very questionable decisions.
Glad to see Katie Lou have a good second half.
Still, this team watched the game too much instead of actually moving at times.

I’m not blaming geno when his game plan less to that man open layups.

They should’ve won the game easily. Missing layups is a mental thing.

That’s been a theme the past 3 years
