The best thing that ND and Te'o could do is come clean now.
That being said, I really really really really hope they continue to defend Te'o and his reputation. Because then, we all win in the end.
Doesn't anyone here watch the show "Catfish" on MTV? This happens regularly apparently. Amazing that people are so gullible but it seems pretty commonplace. http://www.mtv.com/shows/catfish/series.jhtml

EDIT: After reading the entire Deadspin article it doesn't sound like a "catfish" situation took place. This is one crazy story.
Notre Dame is almost too all-in on the kid's side - whatever they know, and whatever their investigator found, I'm guessing it points toward the kid being a victim of a hoax.
