He just can't make helmet contact.

It was a bad call but the only egregious call in my mind all game. And importantly, it didn't affect the score.

I just read that from the NFL rulebook. I don't know if they put something out there about it yet. I'm assuming they'll have to. But Roger Goodell, so you never know.

It was a textbook call. Easy to make and not even legitimately debatable. Helmet to helmet. Penalty. Period. Is it a dumb rule? Yes. Does it penalize some guys who tried to tackle the body but the other player went low? Yes. But that didn’t even happen.

There was one very late hit on Brady that would be called 99% of the time and another where he was thrown down, which is another automatic roughing call now. Is it a lame rule? Maybe. But it was an obvious penalty that went uncalled.

The refs let a lot go. Tons of hand checking by the dbs of both teams. Lots of incidental body contact as well. It helped lead to the low score.

Ehh. Maybe I'll be the only idiot to debate it. You are right that it may just be a currect application of a bad rule. I thought the call was for him being defenseless, not a hit to the head.

I agree that the helmet to helmet was incidental. I was just answering Mau's post that you can't hit a guy until he turns around (or gathers himself for a football move).

I mean, off the top of my head, they threw a flag on Gilmore for holding and it was clear across the field from the play and inconsequential. It was like a turnover since the Rams failed on 3rd down. It's just as iffy as any other call.

Only a Pats fan would say that lucky if it was even a brush of the helmets. Wow even after a W you can’t be truthful about events. It didn’t matter no one got hurt by the awful call.

It wasn't a brush of helmets, and I said above it was incidental and shouldn't have been called. Everyone saw it was helmet to helmet butyou.

Crown of the helmet is the initial point of impact on the other helmet. That’s a penalty 100% of the time under the modern rules.

That was a bad call and bad rule but jeez mau let it go your starting to sound like Dick Vital . Your on your own now most of the others have given up even superjohn hasn't chimed in . Hit the golf course you'll feel better on a sunshiny day.

The Green Bay Packers have 13 Championships. As much as I liked the NFL 100 commercial (Here, Kid. Hold these for me.") I hate that the NFL only recognizes Super Bowls as their championships.

McVey makes all of Goff's pre-snap reads, but had to stop because the Patriots would adjust to McVey's adjustment. The helmet speakers get cut off at 15 seconds and the Rams' offense wouldn't line up before then in the second half.

Long story short is that Goff is a product of McVey. The Rams are expected to exercise Goff's 5th year rookie option for a cool $22 Mil but will let him walk if he succeeds next year and McVey will do the same with someone else.

Without looking it up, How many championships do the Browns have? Even if the Super Bowl era is a Media driven vehicle, the NFL as an organization does nothing to dissuade the narrative.

Why? It wasn't a league before the merger. Not enough teams anyway.

thats what they said which still makes no sense since defense is completely predicated on hitting guys to drop passes

What wasn't a league before the merger? The NFL? There were 15 teams in the NFL in 1966. By comparison, there were 14 teams when NBA/ABA merger talks began in 1970 and 18 in the final season prior to the merger.

The Ravens were established in 1995 (Organizational history stayed in Cleveland). The Browns won three championships in Cleveland, but whether anyone knows or not that CLE retained the history, colors, and name, and logos, their pre-Super Bowl titles don't register.

I can understand that from a Pittsburgh guy, seeing as the Steelers would love to erase their history prior to 1970.
