Lots of terrific music. I think they had bath tubs for urinals. The greatest dive.Shaboo?
and penny night at the Arcadia BallroomAgora was great. With that you need to add Gatsby's, Daniels, Poor Richards Pub and the Pumpernickel Pubs amongst many others.

It has a lot more than a rope tow, but Catamount on the NY/MA border has a tremendous value with $20 e-tickets (lift tickets purchased on-line) on non-holiday Mondays and Thursdays. Worth pulling them out of school for a day (or taking them on a snow day). I hadn't been there since high school and was pretty impressed when I went this past winter. The lodge is still the same as it was in the 70s I think, which is great imo. IIRC the bunny hill area has a rope tow and even lower priced tickets; but the rest of the mountain had more than enough varied terrain to provide great value for $20, even if you only ski a half day (during which you can get in a ton of runs on a Monday or Thursday because there are no crowds). Like everywhere else in the Northeast this past winter, the conditions were exceptional.I really miss the small ski areas that had nothing more than a rope tow. Especially Oh-Ho-Ho in Woodstock. The Uconn rope tow used to cost a dollar a day. Those places were perfect for learning to ski. You could go for a few runs and then split.
My kids didn't learn to ski because they never wanted to commit a full day to going to a bigger mountain.

I actually went to Jai-Alai in Ft. Pierce this winter. It was grim, though I was pretty sure it wasn't fixed. In the last round, the 8 won 4 straight points to win game. The player took no money in the win pool. They ended up paying anyone who had the 2nd place player to win.
Actually I'm from Fairfield County and live and work in New Haven County now. But my best friend's family growing up had a place in Goshen; and my best friend from college lives in Litchfield. Both have remained best friends and that's what brought me up there then and still brings me up there now.I live about 10 miles from Catamount, great skiing for a little mountain. Got some great steeps. Where are you from 8893? Must be somewhere in NW CT if you knew about Beverly's, The Casino or Catamount.
