Went to a bunch of concerts at the NH Coliseum (including Stevie Wonder-awesome) plus the nighthawks and novelty shows. Problem was venues got bigger and it became too small. But I have happier memories of the NH Arena (OK, I'm old) NH Blades Hockey was fun. I saw the last concert there (Elton John), snuck in the be about the only white kids at a couple James Brown and a bunch in-between.
Went to work at 14 at the Arena selling popcorn & peanuts during hockey games. Got me into all events for free
You must remember the Yale Bowl concerts then. We use to sneak in to all of them. I saw Zeppelin there.

Speaking of the Yale Bowl the annual UConn/Yale games were a party and a half. Loved those Saturday games although I can barely remember watching a play

Paid a security guy all the time to help get some coolers over the fence along with a jug or 2 of Alabama Slammers and sat in the end zone near the top and had fun.

My first concert was at Yale Bowl: Janis Joplin with Gordon Lightfoot opening.

You could see people in smaller setting too. I saw Fleetwood Mac at the UNH (New Haven) gym.

We called the condo complex Cenous Hills(Century Hills). I've made some huge mistakes at Oscars. There was a desperation about the women there that was irresistable
We called it Sensuous Thrills.

Went to the Clash show and Men at Work in West Hartford, guess it was named the Agora, off the Flatbush exit on 84. The thing about that venue was all the beer cans on the floor at the end of the show. HoJos had great ice cream and the food was decent. Every week night had a cheap meal special and one was liver and onions. Does anyone eat liver anymore?

I may be the only person who does.

That's hilarious Danzz and yet so true about the desperation LOL Tried to always make it the hottest one but that wasn't always the case which then proved the real desperation in the next few levels, which really turned out to be irresistible. That's funny . We may have been competing!;)

Wasn't Ho-Jo's on the I95 rest areas too? Whoever it was, it was the slowest traveling food ever.

Railroad Salvage commercials.

Best yo mamma joke from back in the day:

"Yo mamma look like Ruby Vine from Railroad Salvage!"

Wasn't much a food fan but their Orange Sherbert!! I can still taste it.

Beverly's on Bantam Lake. The Casino on Lake Waramaug.
Now THERE is a fellow Litchfield Hills local!!!

Been to both, Casino with my Dad when I was just a kid, and Beverly's in High School. Good times.

If you're talking about Lake Waramaug, I'd add Richie's Pizza. The Best.

And in that general area, The Shepaug Club, since renovated, completely renovated, and then torn down to avoid the property taxes. Doh!

The old Oakdale Theater and Concerts at Lake Compounce
Yup, two more I've done. Nothing quite like the comfy confines of the theater in the round at Oakdale. Only saw a couple concerts at Lake Compounce, including Belinda Carlisle! Eek.

Beverly's is a little before my time but I'be heard great stories about the place, it's a shame it was torn down.

CT Golf Land in Vernon was my jam as a kid. I must have gone to like 20 birthday parties there back in the day, and that's where I got my first 'real' job. I went a few years ago and the arcade was a disaster, all newfangled crap and no actual video games. I was still pretty bummed when they shut down for good last summer.

Hell yes! I think the last Yale Bowl game was my Freshmen year at UConn. One of the best times of my life. Never went inside and never cared to. Absolute debauchery!

Anybody else remember when Mike Zito (from my hometown of East Haven) knocked Calvin Hill unconscious during a UConn-Yale football game?

Hooter with hot girls like the ones in Ft. Lauderdale.

Learned to golf there and rode go karts solo there for the first time.

There is duckpin bowling on the Berlin Tpke.

Megan Fox and Nate Robinson miss it
