I am beginning to buy Flug after hearing some of the quotes today at the AD presser and seeing what UConn is tweeting.
Sounds like I've made judicious use of the Ignore feature.Good thing that guy was banned. I was afraid he might destroy a thread with pages and pages of nonsense

There will be votes re:expansion prior to the B12 meetings at the end of May. 1st vote is a final vote on whether or not to expand at all
Utini @PromiscuousJawa · 9m9 minutes ago
If a no then expansion dies for now. If a yes, 2nd vote is by how many. That vote would immediately follow the yes on expansion vote.

3rd vote would come a week later and would be re: who to add.

Representatives of any added schools are expected to be at the May/June meetings as new members. Announcement would be public just prior
Whether this guy knows what he's talking about or not, the actual informal voting will take place long before. The meetings will be a formality.
This is what makes today's article by Dennis Dodd so strange. Unless Dodd has an agenda against the Big 12 expanding.
and could that truly be Boren's goal? Is the talk of expansion just smoke and mirrors in the art of the compromise? OU's primary desired end game is no more BEVO TV, fold it into a B12 network. Boren caves on expanding if UT caves on LHN..Greg Flugaur @flugempire 35m35 minutes ago
Berry Tramel-Chat "I think elimination of LHN is the line of demarcation. I think OU will look elsewhere, eventually, if Bevo TV endures"

They can't do a B12 network unless they expand. Not enough market reach.

The network isn't at all viable without expansion. That's the thing. It's Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. And a couple people in the Appalachian mountains. They need new markets to have any shot at a B12 network.
Nor content, realistically, though that didn't stop them from starting the LHN. I know they were hoping to be able to show HS games, but creating a full-time sports network for one school that only plays 18 varsity sports seems like a terrible plan.
It's not just the main brands. It is overall hours of content. Sure some of it will blow, but it's still live content. You run out of Tier 3 games available with only 10 teams.
I'm still waiting for Conspiracy Kitty to tell me what this means. There's the obvious point, that UConn is making its presence known to Dallas and the Big XII. Then there's the one I'm hoping for, where we're flirting with someone else to make the B1G jealous and add us. They can't let the XII into NY/NE, can they?
You actually made me check to see that the Key Tweets thread was still there / not locked. Don't scare me like that.non-key tweet: The key tweets thread is officially dead. I think a new thread needs to be started.
Seeing that the state is in such bad shape financially, maybe it will vote red in November and the folks in Texas will look differently upon us. Just a thought.
Flug says we're getting a B12 invite and we already have people dreaming up a B1G/B12 bidding war for us... Glad we aren't being greedy before we're officially out of the woods.
This is all total fiction at this point anyway, but if you're going to bother addressing it I don't think it's unrealistic to ask whether either of the ACC or the Big Ten is willing to let the Big XII have its toe on the edge of Metro NY in addition to the edge of the DMV.
