If a no then expansion dies for now. If a yes, 2nd vote is by how many. That vote would immediately follow the yes on expansion vote.

Whether this guy knows what he's talking about or not, the actual informal voting will take place long before. The meetings will be a formality.

This is what makes today's article by Dennis Dodd so strange. Unless Dodd has an agenda against the Big 12 expanding.

He works for CBS! CBS buys content....lots of UConn content, for pennies on the dollar, from ESPN. That content largely belongs to Fox if the Big XII expands. Who the hell will watch ECU vs USF on CBSSN?

and could that truly be Boren's goal? Is the talk of expansion just smoke and mirrors in the art of the compromise? OU's primary desired end game is no more BEVO TV, fold it into a B12 network. Boren caves on expanding if UT caves on LHN..

The network isn't at all viable without expansion. That's the thing. It's Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. And a couple people in the Appalachian mountains. They need new markets to have any shot at a B12 network.

Here's the thing I never understood:

How in god's name was UT able to get ESPN to build them a network on the premise of showing HS games without ESPN even thinking to ask the question of, "Is it legal?"

Obviously the rest of the Big 12 and the NCAA would have a conniption over this plan. Truly amazing that this didn't set off alarms in Bristol.

And that is one of the XII's Achilles' heel that gets lost behind the fight overt the LHN, XII's solid football brand, and even Texas' push to include high school games on their network (in addition to the recruiting angle) A network needs volume. The XII currently sponsors 10 men's and 13 women's varsity sports the yield a total of 181 sport programs or 18 sports per school on average. The B1G in contrast sponsors 14 men's and 14 women's varsity sports that yield a total of 325 sport programs or 23 sports per school. That's a big content difference.

Then there's the one I'm hoping for, where we're flirting with someone else to make the B1G jealous and add us. They can't let the XII into NY/NE, can they?

This is all total fiction at this point anyway, but if you're going to bother addressing it I don't think it's unrealistic to ask whether either of the ACC or the Big Ten is willing to let the Big XII have its toe on the edge of Metro NY in addition to the edge of the DMV.
