I figure the B1G would turn that down rather quickly. They don't need the risk and instability, especially considering their biggest schools have standing arrangements to play ND pretty frequently anyhow. They also wouldn't control the media rights of ~half of those 5 games, ND and NBC would.
They will turn it down like they should. The Big 10 is not as weak as the ACC is and ND will be going up against schools (OSU, Michigan) that are it's peers in terms of power while negotiating terms.

That can be negotiated. The ACC had no leverage, and although ND has most of the leverage here, the B1G can make a counter offer and go from there. ACC’s counter was YES.

Notre Dame has 3 options. Status quo with the ACC, full membership in the ACC, or join the Big 10 as a full member. Big 12 is not an option as Notre Dame's most played school in the Big 12 would rank as the 39th most played opponent, and Big 12 schools, in total, have played Notre Dame 37 times. And, the ACC is a much better fit for their non-football sports than the Big 12. Throw in that Notre Dame is guaranteed a spot in the playoff if they finish in the top 12 starting next year and why would they leave the ACC over being excluded this year?
Doesn’t ND have some agreement with ACC that says something to effect that if ND joins league, it would be the ACC?
Maybe I’m misremembering

Wild dream but what if ND legit says to B12 officials you have no eastern schools. Big12 says we can get Uconn today. ND says fine but any games we play against them are in NY or Boston for football or basketball.

This guy again has his conspiracy antennae up, but UConn would say no thanks to a football only partial membership.
Well, first, I'm not sure that a football only partial membership is allowed, but if it were Connecticut would take it in a heartbeat. In many ways, that would be the best of all possible worlds for us.

It would be allowed because our primary conference doesn't sponsor football. Being an associate member is allowed for any sport your primary conference doesn't sponsor.

Since the big 12 sponsors the bulk of our other sports, I think we'd have to be all in with them.

Otherwise, you could get around the general rule by designating a conference as your "primary conference".

Why in the world would the B12 offer UConn a football-only membership?
But I don’t think that’s what he meant by partial membership. I’m assuming he meant as a partner to add with Notre Dame for non-football sports. The only way UConn would do that is there was a path for FB to join over the next few years.

I think what he meant was add UConn as a full member and ND as partial, but who knows. Not happening anyway. Course I've been wrong on occasion 😎

Maybe. I’m which case, that would be awesome. But unfortunately, it’s MHver3 so it’s fake news.

It is if other league doesn’t sponsor football

That isn't really how it works though. With the exception of sports like hockey where most conferences are that sport only, the vast majority of associate members in various sports are associate members of a conference that sponsors a lot of overlapping sports with said associates' primary conferences. Us in the Big East for FH while we were still in the AAC and before the AAC starting sponsoring FH themselves, for instance.

And you do designate a primary conference. It's literally the reason schools can become associate members of non-sponsored sports in the first place. You declare a primary conference (I believe it has to be who you're in basketball for since all all-sport conferences sponsor it) so that if that conference doesn't sponsor a sport for which you have a program you can still get limited conference benefits you wouldn't otherwise get by nature of being forced to be independent.
