He's an Iowa State fan.

He probably just remembers Redbird going to bat for us. It doesn’t mean much because Redbird’s thoughts may have changed when the 4 Corners joined. However, access to the northeast market has got to matter to these guys because they are based in NYC. We already know it matters to Yormark. This may be something that actually gets legs.

Flugar has been on top of this since the beginning way before others ... 39 min mark says contrary to original goal and want of CT door is shut for now on UConn big12. Rule #1

Holy hell, these guys are like fingernails on a blackboard. Could they say less with more words? Particularly our old friend Flugaur. Is Gygax Mhver?

How old is this thing. They are still talking about the ACC litigation with Florida State and Clemson.

That was from 9 months ago when they started talking about UConn and private equity companies.

Wasn’t there a rumor the last go around that an equity firm said they wanted us in the deal? Am I making this up?
Yes. Multiple private equity groups were pro UConn. That makes sense because they see what we do in NYC. More than one of those groups was out of New York. Redbird, who they are going with, is a NYC based company that was in favor of adding UConn. You would have to think Redbird and Yormark are very likely still UConn proponents.

The issue I see is that when all of that occurred, the 4 Corners schools weren’t members. Now that they are, dynamics may have changed. However, I would think that Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado could possibly be UConn proponents. All 3 draw students from the Northeast and would like more. Those 3 schools should be pro-UConn at a presidential level. Utah might not care for a blue state so far away, not much to gain for them.

Another issue could be the B12 deciding to just sit tight for a few years and see if any ACC schools fall into their lap, like the 4 Corners did.

Yeah, that’s the popular opinion. However, while I see some schools being attractive to the B12, none of them is in our massive market. Theoretically, the next big reshuffling “should” include UConn because we have elite basketball in the biggest market in the country and we are showing we can compete in football. If the the B1G and SEC take some schools and the B12 picks over the ACC carcass, I’m not sure that doesn’t make us even more appealing. The B12 will have a full east coast wing at that point and without us, still no NY-Boston school. New York is what Redbird and Yormark covet.

Miami & Louisville wouldn't move the needle enough to pay back the exit fee that the Big XII would allegedly pay in this fantasy... but if you're in West Virginia you'd love to see a pair of conference rivals (pre and post initial ACC raid) come back.

What is it about WVU and irrelevant chuds that like to act like they have information and people on the inside and insist on keeping up the ruse for years even though everyone knows they're full of it lmao

I never liked those Hilljacks.

I strongly disagree with this statement.

Pitt lost but games to Hofstra and Quinnipiac. THAT is the epitome of brutality.

That’s his Schtick, he says that whenever someone loses a buy game.

Interesting nugget from Matt Brown here:

"Speaking of the MAC, don’t be shocked if anybody else leaves this year. Not just for league that might have better competitive or financial upside, but to "downgrade” a bit to save money.

Don’t be shocked to hear about the American kicking the tires a little more, and a little more loudly, on non-football membership to bolster their basketball offerings."

UMass back to the CAA? Would be a great gift for an FCS conference that has fallen on hard times.
