I like his posts. But he needs a map if he's going to claim Cincinnati is an "East Coast" market.

Maybe he means east coast timezone?

The UConn "people" has to include that big donor who's last name begins with a "B".

He probably does. They're in the time zone. That is about the only way they're considered Eastern, because they're like quintessentially Midwest.
According to this map (source), the quintessential Midwestern states are the "I" states - Illinois, Indiana, Iowa. Ohio is kind of mid tier Midwest, not core Midwest. He probably does. You'd think so...Ive travelled to Cincy a ton for work. I fully expected a typical mid-western town when I first went out there but its has so much more of a southern feel than I would have thought. Probably due the tons of people who work in Cincy actually live in Northern Kentucky

People claiming Montana and Wyoming are Midwest need a map as bad a Flug does.
Honestly I always considered everything west of Iowa and Minnesota "Plains states" and everything west of Nebraska, Kansas and the Dakotas the Mountain West.
I could see that since it's hard to say that people who live five minutes apart live in two totally different parts of the country (Ohio in the Midwest and Kentucky in the South), so there's bound to be some meshing of cultures. I guess they're not quintessential Midwestern like, say, Indianapolis probably is, but I still don't identify Cincy as East.
South Dakota - at least the western part of the state - fancy themselves are part of the west. Lots of western and old west references. https://www.deadwood.com/history/Honestly I always considered everything west of Iowa and Minnesota "Plains states" and everything west of Nebraska, Kansas and the Dakotas the Mountain West.
I think your observations of Cincinnati are accurate....Most Cincinnatians feel more of a kinship with the folks from Louisville, Nashville, and Knoxville. They generally resent the state of Ohio, bairly tolerate Columbus, and Cleveland might as well be on the mars. This is probably why people up state in Ohio refer to it as "Cincitucky"........You'd think so...Ive travelled to Cincy a ton for work. @theDudeofWV Doesn't that study indicate that the ACC would be an extremely valuable property with all of the cable boxes within their area?
Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 42m42 minutes ago
@a_ratfink ACC did a media survey. If you go below the 1st level of data you see some issues with ACC value.

@theDudeofWV good article and sit down with the commissioner.

@GoPowercat @GPC_Fitz I also think you should have added revenue, attendance, avg TV rating, merchandising rank, facilities & subsidies.

@GoPowercat @GPC_Fitz I did this in 2014. Info was provided by each school. Notice ECU's DMA. Not Greenville...

@dennisdoddcbs @CBSSports #BYU Dennis, great article. @theDudeofWV has had same conjecture. Rumblings ACC launches their NET preemptively?
Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 4m4 minutes ago
@dun1870gc @dennisdoddcbs @CBSSports The problem for the ACCN is that ESPN owns all the content, it's major markets would compete with SECN
Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 4m4 minutes ago
@dun1870gc @dennisdoddcbs @CBSSports It has 7 private schools & market saturation in its best markets.

Dennis Dodds says Big 12 sitting on top of a goldmine of network content. Where have you heard that before?

@hmpersinger3 how come all the jokes are at my expense?

@theDudeofWV cause you make it so irresistible. $8M for UConn? Cmon! If that were even remotely true, ACC would have them
Christopher Lambert @theDudeofWV 36s36 seconds ago
@hmpersinger3 See the attachment. That market size includes NYC. UCONN has little chance without NYC.

Obviously, the ACC would never make a mistake in expansion selection. I mean if UConn was a P5 school they would be in the P5.
There is a reason the ACC is not getting a network and it is in large part due to the failure to retain and expand wisely. Passing on UConn is part of that failure. Why other fans can't figure this out I have no idea.
Personally, I look forward to the upcoming steel cage death match between the ACC schools for the limited spots in the SEC/BIG. If the ACC does not get a network then it is not "if" but instead "how long until" ACC teams bail for the network conferences.
So obvious looking back the ACC was reactionary and let Football trump long turn investment. Dollars generated by market. Packaging their own programming. Yes Football drives the bus but there is a reason Boise will never be in a major conference. From a pure sports perspective ACC loses Maryland adds Syracuse, Pitt, Louisville for all sports ND for football but let B1G take DC and Part of NY with weak to moderate sports additions. Look at results $.
ACC possibly maneuvered itself to be the next BE.
No doubt given Boise State CC delivers little to nothing compared with UT's massive student, alumni, and fan populations, overall athletic department, and university reach. No population, DMA, cities, nada, zip, zilch, etc. When some people mention Boise State and the Pac 12, it's comical. UT, not so comical and almost sensible should the Big 12 explode and the Pac 12 be willing to accommodate Bevo.If the conferences are all moving to 16, the thought of taking Texas instead of Boise State should focus a few minds.
