I wanted to congratulate Temple on beating the large PA school from the B1G. But that is not a good thing for UCONN. No one talks about Temple but if anyone is looking for the next big kick in the nutsack, it could be Temple getting an invite from the ACC. Yeah, it is crazy but not too crazy for CR. UCONN just squeaked by Nova but this very large school from Philly just beat the big school from the B1G. Go figure.
Well if you really want to congratulate temple may I suggest you drop by their fansite? We are UConn fans here, so here your post just comes off as, well, kind of deek-ish.

deek-ish? wtf? If you are a UCONN fan, then you should be more concerned about UCONN's sentence in the AAC than about the deek-ish-ness of my post.

Watching that game yesterday..with the way PSU's OL played I'm not sure they would have beaten Nova. Temple played a good game and looks to have a good team but PSU's OL was beyond horrible. They made me think I was watching a DeLeone coached UCONN line.

& Brock Huard was throwing out DeLeone quotes like they were candy to a parade crowd.

Good lord.

Temple beating Penn State is completely meaningless.

Your troll act has gotten tired. You used to be better at it.

Marshall beat a B1G school today in football. I'm expecting an announcement of the Thundering Herd network by tomorrow afternoon.

I think people on this board are just plain losing it. UCONN is shut out, period. A struggling football program in a G5 conference lucky enough to beat a villanova team. And Temple's win is meaningless? Good Lord is right.

Yes, Temple's win is meaningless.

Utterly, completely and entirely meaningless.

I mean we've beaten Notre Dame, South Carolina, Baylor, Virginia, Louisville etc.

Those types of wins don't mean much when it comes to conference realignment. Cripes, Boise would be in if it did.

Now I'm a troll. OK. Whatever helps you cope.
Relax guys. I'm not saying Temple will get an invite on the basis if an utterly, completely, entirely meaningless huge win, but UCONN isn't either. Despite the thousands of theories and machinations posted on this site.

Temple's win is good for the AAC. So is BYU's, for the G5. It reminds people what college athletics would lose if a P5 breakaway diminishes competition.

But as far as affecting which universities are attractive to add, it doesn't matter. Rutgers is still more valuable than Temple no matter how many wins Temple gets or losses and scandals Rutgers generates.

This is why I watch NCAAF - for the upsets - for the surprises - because a sport with 100+ teams creates a lot of mystery. If the P5 narrows itself down to a [60] team a lot of magic will be lost.

@flugempire do u have any thoughts about cau and Huston as b1g members

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · Sep 6
@Doctor_alesmith In a B1G 20 member world...which might take another generation to happen...a CSU could fit. Houston, not so much

Cougar Football Feed ‏@UHFootballFeed · 6h6 hours ago
@flugempire UH poured foundations for expansion to 60K on advice from Delany. CSU building 36K seats with little room for expand. U do math.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 6h6 hours ago
@UHFootballFeed On advice from Delany? Do you have a link...if not where are you hearing this from? Is from a UH paper or source?

Cougar Football Feed ‏@UHFootballFeed · 3h3 hours ago
@flugempire B1G visited UH ~2 yrs ago. Gave UH long checklist. 60K stadium was one. PBK chapter another (TBA in Oct). B1G will visit again.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 6h6 hours ago
@UHFootballFeed You have the right Coach...the correct President...but B1G is not the right place. UH not land grant...not huge research $

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 6h6 hours ago
@UHFootballFeed Dont get me wrong...UH has research expenditures $....and is a rising university with more and more on campus students

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 6h6 hours ago
@UHFootballFeed
UH is a B12 & PAC candidate...not B1G.
No AAU/no Land a Grant status/no big time research $ = no shot at B1G

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 2h2 hours ago
UH is not a Big 12 candidate. I don't know who is promoting that but they are just trolling UH fans.

Todd Cunningham ‏@TCunningham50 · 2h2 hours ago
@theDudeofWV Texas would never allow it.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 2h2 hours ago
@TCunningham50 Other reasons too. Dismal TV ratings for UH. Doesn't expand footprint. TV partners want southeast now southwest.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 2h2 hours ago
@TCunningham50 That's not to say UH's program isn't worthy. It is...just location, location, location....

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 2h2 hours ago
@MHWharton Flugar knows nothing. I'm not sure how someone who claims to have B1G connections knows who the Big 12 is considering.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 2h2 hours ago
@MHWharton It's not like Bowlsby calls up JD and tells him the gossip.

Hummmm....

Where did I hear this earlier today?....I can't remember.

Huuummmm...

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 50m50 minutes ago
We at @flugempire were fortunate enough to break yet anorher story here on our teitter page while the Dude was asking me to leave him alone

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 46m46 minutes ago
Now on the question of Houston and for those Cougars who follow me...they know where BTM stands on issue of Houston possible trip to P5.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 46m46 minutes ago
I have been direct and honest with Cougar fans...I have tweeted out my personal belief UH would be down 5th on my list for B12 expansion...

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 44m44 minutes ago
But for now B1G perception is UH is right there with BYU and UCF for 2017 expansion.
I have been direct with the reasons why.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 43m43 minutes ago
UH has a leg up on one major B12 expansion metric...relationship/politics in Texas.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 40m40 minutes ago
But again, fortunate to get the word 8 hours before FOX/ESPN announced Coastal Carolina was going FBS...we broke our 4th story (documented)

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 39m39 minutes ago
And we believe we have the 5th in the hopper with FOX getting AT LEAST 50% of B1G new TV contract. More on that on Sept 25th.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 38m38 minutes ago
I will continue to attempt to give you breaking underground stories....
Dude will keep up with his whiplash comments.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 2h2 hours ago
On Sept 1st BTM says nothing has changed..BYU-UH-UCF.

Daniel Freer ‏@DWFreer · 1h1 hour ago
@flugempire Not sure why UH is mentioned. They do not bring in additional TV markets, additional recruiting, for B12

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 1h1 hour ago
@DWFreer I agree with many of those thoughts...however Houston is getting taken over by SEC. B12 is bleeding in UH.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 1h1 hour ago
@DWFreer Also..UH being mentioned as top 3 goes to the heart of how decisions are made in B12. UH is considered top 3 for B12 by B1G b/c ...

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 1h1 hour ago
@DWFreer .besides #11 UCF being pushed by FOX..the 12th member will be a compromised choice of Texas/ESPN faction. UH can't be crossed out..

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 1h1 hour ago
@DWFreer Politics in Texas will play a part and if it's the leading variable on the 12th pick then UH will have a good shot. UH or BYU is 12

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 1h1 hour ago
@DWFreer There is not going to be B12 Conf Network unless Conf implodes first. So UH location of being another Texas school doesn't hurt UH

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 58m58 minutes ago
Here is the deal....Houston is going to make it very difficult for UT to put their stamp of approval on B12 expansion without including UH.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 57m57 minutes ago
UCF-BYU-UH are the 3 leading candidates for 2017 according to BTM.
Again...I'm being asked "why Houston?" Why is Houston in the top 3?

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 56m56 minutes ago
Because at some point when the trigger is pulled on B12 expansion everyone will know who finally said yes to pulling the trigger..Texas.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 55m55 minutes ago
So when it happens does UT legislatures in Austin and the University take the road of least resistance in the political sphere within Texas?

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 54m54 minutes ago
Or does Texas and its leadership in Austin take the road of puncturing the opportunity of UH to attain full Tier 1 Acedemics/Research &...

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 54m54 minutes ago
...to take away its best chance to attain the ability to compete in athletics at the highest level which would build the front porch of UH?

If XII adds Houston due at least in part to Texas politics, Oklahoma will be on the next train to the PAC ,SEC or B1G.

GMen Question:If the Big 12 split up today, Which teams would go where?

GR EG SW AIM SHOW‏@ GS WA im 10h10 hours ago
#Sooners, #OKState to #SEC, #UT, #TexasTech, #KState, #KUfball to #Pac12, #WVU to #ACC, #ISU to #B1G. #TCU, #Baylor?

John OHearn‏@jdohearn 10h10 hours ago
@GSw aim @FranchiseOK you really think P12 would take Tech and KSU? I just don't see it.

GR EG SW AIM SHOW‏@GSw aim 9h9 hours ago
They want to get 16, add Central time zone to sell #Pac12 Network, which isn't carried nationwide like #SEC, #BTN.

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 6h6 hours ago
AT&T wants equity in PACN. AT&T/DirecTV will also want PACN to grab hold into the state of Texas.

Doug ‏@NebGradDubDub 5h5 hours ago
@flugempire funny, I've been saying this for months

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 5h5 hours ago
@NebGradDubDub Yes sir

Jon WilnerVerified account ‏@wilnerhotline 6h6 hours ago
To be clear, per sources: AT&T would not buy an equity stake in the Pac12Nets, it would TAKE an equity stake in exchange for DTV carriage.

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 6h6 hours ago
@wilnerhotline Depending on how big a slice PAC has to give up...and of course AT&T would want PAC to eventually enter into state of Texas.

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 5h5 hours ago
AT&T getting an equity slice of the PACN will only pour gasoline on the PAC 12 expansion fire. Not water...not water.....fire.

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 5h5 hours ago
Just like ESPN/SEC with the development of the SECN wanted to expand into new markets of Missouri and Texas (A&M)...so will AT&T add fuel

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 5h5 hours ago
And with the approaching development of the ACCN (yes, it's happening) there will be a dynamic shift in Conf realignment in 2026..or..sooner

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 5h5 hours ago
The "sooner" depending on Texas.

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 5h5 hours ago
With a slice of equity in hand (when it happens) AT&T will want to grow the value of the PACN..have it succeed..have it cobble it together..

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire 5h5 hours ago
..with future possible enterprises. Conf Networks are not going away. Big 12, in its current form, can't get Conf Net. You get the picture?
