He's just that good and was especially out of this world tonight, that I do wonder if going 1 on 2 was better than a wide open 3. It's absurd. He made the right read. And yet, still I wonder.
LeBron almost always makes the right read there, and it still probably is. Him going 1 on 2 and getting fouled to hit 2/2 at the line is roughly equivalent to Danny Green hitting that shot 4/10 times which is a chance I'll take

Danny Green, I have realized, is so bad at this point. He doesn’t hit shots he should.

It was a no call or a charge. I wouldn't call it atrocious at all. The refs were actually decent tonight.
It’s a no call or a block. Robinson was moving still, and it wasn’t even close. He wasn’t anywhere near set.

They literally reviewed it. It was an easy call. LeBron initiated the contact and Duncan was in a legal guarding position outside the restricted. His further movement didn't block the offensive player since he was already in front of his path. It can't be a no call since there was significant contact such that Duncan could not defend further (on account of LeBron lowering his shoulder and plowing him over).

They reviewed it and they got it wrong. Duncan was moving as the contact was initiated and LeBron didn’t even enforce the contact. It was a bad call and a 2/3 point swing. And I haven’t even mentioned how soft the calls Jimmy and Bam have been getting. It’s ridiculous.

It was consistent with how they’ve been calling it for years. The charge call on Caruso was much worse.

You don't have to be "not moving" for it to be a charge. He was squared up and in legal guarding position and Lebron barreled into him ... it's close to a text book charge. I think that was Lebron's first foul of the game and he still whined about it.

He's incredible, and was particularly incredible last night because his jumper was falling, but he's gotten to the point where he genuinely feels he never fouls.

I like the time in the 4th where Lebron caught a bad pass, landed on his ass and slid, and didn't get a travel called on him. Actually, the bigger issue with Lebron is him hammering people on defense and never getting called. The superstar calls are one thing in a midseason game against the Hawks, but this is the NBA Finals and the Heat deserve more respect than the refs are giving them.

no. It should never happen. It’s one of the biggest reasons the nba is trash.

it’s bad enough you see duke unc and mich st get every call under the sun. But the nba just let’s guys ignore the rules entirely

I disagree on the second part. I thought it should have been a no call. It was not a block.

I thought the call for Butler against AD was also a no call.

Doesn’t matter if it’s his first foul or his 6th. He was going to the basket on a fast break and Robinson wasn’t in legal guarding position, he just got in his way and half-flopped and got a call. And yeah he complains, but literally every player complains after foul calls, every single one. Ticky tacky fouls that are fouls for everyone don’t look like it on him because he’s built like a train, but they’re still fouls. Also the Heat get every call going to the basket, especially Jimmy who got a few bailout calls in the end there.

I'm not picking on the guy, so you don't have to get all huffy ... but I disagree with most of that post.

First, I never said it mattered as far as the call which foul it was, it mattered that he was complaining like crazy when it was the first foul call on him all game. To add to that, it was definitely a charge and Robinson WAS in legal guarding position. I'd advise you to watch it over again.

I wanted Miami to win so I can see more competition, but I'm not against Lebron, that's an objective standpoint. It's not even close to being anything but a charge.

Anthony Davis should be suspended for game 6.

Think it'll get upgraded retroactively to flagrant 2. He has one other flagrant 1 this post-season, so that puts him at 3 points and 1 point away from an auto suspension.

It's possible NBA makes him sit 1 anyways (because they need as much money as possible and need game 7 ratings), because they missed the ejection in that game and there's at least some precedent of a hard slap/hit to the face is 1 game suspension.

LeBron might win it without him, but it would be an interesting mirror of the Draymond Green incident that cost him Game 6 and opened up the door for the Cavs.

Just saw that play in question ... with the way they handle these things now, how is he not suspended?

Lebron is the biggest whiner in the history of the NBA. He gets more calls than anyone and in his mind he has never committed a foul. In my opinion this aspect of his game drops him below the levels of Wilt, Russell, Kobe, Bird who played the game and didn't play the refs. NOBODY in sports is coddled as much as Lebron. Its no wonder he admires Coach K - they have so much in common. I hope Butler and Hero blows his doors off. His act is wearing thin.

You equate Draymond's impact for the GSW with AD's impact for the Lakers?

This is ridiculous, no punishment whatsoever for AD hitting Crowder in the face. I'm all for going back to the 80's and 90's NBA but that's not the current league, guys get ejected/one game suspension for less all the time...
