p5 is football. Rutgers will never have the advantages of their more well-heeled conference mates. Coaches will always flock to the upper-tier of the 7 Major conferences.
Friar, those schools aren't in the middle of nowhere. Tampa, New Orleans, and even Tulsa, are every bit as desirable as every other destination in college sports. Tulsa has made a tourney recently and - coupled with the Wichita State addition - gives the conference a nice bridge in the West. The AAC footprint is actually filled with decent destinations that, outside of Greenville, are very easy to fly into.
Those destinations can just as easily be seen as a recruiting advantage.
