For anyone worried Sarah Strong's HS production is only due to poor competition...

27 points, 24 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks today.

I really like this kid. Along with her obvious skills she just knows how to play. Her parents are a huge advantage for her and I actually think UConn has a legitimate shot here.

That motor. SOLD!
She's really nice. Has very good skills and really knows what she's doing. However, I tend to think the hometown school right down the road from her is a clear frontrunner for her. That's Stanford. Click the blue link in there to see the original article.

Still plenty of good prospect before UCONN would have to "settle" for Avery Treadwell IMO.
SF. M. Williams, Booker , Sahara Williams, Kitts, Prosper
PF: Riley Stack ,Delaney Thomas, Olivia Anderson
Post: Cunningham & DelRosario

I honestly think anyone below this level would be a major project for UCONN and admittedly some on the list might also be considered a projects as well. There is also the Transfer Portal which is always buzzing as well as international players that can fill needs for the 23-24 season if UCONN happens to strike out on all of the above.

Sarah’s not getting the street cred of a lot of the other prospects but players with her body type are often under rated out of high school. I’m not saying she’s immediate starter material but she’s a worthwhile investment.

I see Hopkins has another 2024 player, #11 in ESPNW, Alivia McGill. Is Geno recruiting her?

Actually Bueckers played against her as a senior 2 years ago when McGill was an 8th grader and played for another school.

Not making her final five, yuck.
Why is UConn missing out on some of the best prospects? Have we lost our mystic? What’s really going on? Opinions? Really big bigs don’t seem to be attracted to our program. This maybe another “Boston” miss.

Truthfully, I didn’t see her going anywhere outside the Pac 12 (UCLA is still my prediction). Not too shocked UConn isn’t in her Top 5.
Kiki, Breya, jada, Jáquez and possibly Juju would be a formidable force and add Lyndon Jones. Oh boy

PrepGirlsHoops standouts from Saturday (5/7):

Sarah Strong I 6’2 I PF I 2024 I Lady Strong 2024

When you hear the name Sarah Strong, just think of a walking double double. Strong can do it all. She has had an impressive tournament so far. In her first game on the day, she went for 28 points and 25 plus rebounds. A dominating performance on the offensive and defensive end. A player that bangs inside on the block but also step out and consistently hit the 3. Has the ability to put it on the floor from the high post and score at the rim. A great defender that can guard inside/out. A matchup problem for post players and guards. High IQ player that gets better every time she steps on the floor. Exciting player to watch.

Thanks for sharing the video. I especially liked the last play on the video where Emberlynn passed to a teammate and then followed the play to the basket to pick up the put back. But nine years might be wishful thinking for me. By the way, was that Jeff Walz I saw amongst the spectators?

Maybe she is not promoting herself like some of the others? Lots of the hype is self driven. She is growing on me too, however after recent recruitment misses, I refuse to get invested!

Are we though? I mean UCONN isn’t for everyone and some kids just want to stay home or nearby because family is important. We do have a 6-3/4 post coming next season from San Diego and one of the most athletic prospects in the 22 class not to mention 2 great guards the following season. Maybe I’m just a glass half full kinda human. I dont know.
Cunningham will be a great college player but as I have stated on here multiple times she wasn’t leaving the West Coast. I realize I’m no @Sluconn Husky or @UConnCat or @CocoHusky but I’ve been around for a while do get some information from time to time. And while we are on that topic you can add Watkins to the “west coast” prospects because she is also expected to stay home although not with as much certainty as Cunningham. Bottom line we will be fine.

Cori Close is still coaching so they will never be a force. They wIll pick up a lot of NIL endorsements and bask in the Cali sunshine but as far as becoming better basketball players or winning even a conference championship it not going to happen.

Connecticut has not lost its Mystic, last time I checked still on the map as a town and River. UCONN still has its mystique, also.

I'm not sure UCONN has show any interest in Canadian prospect Cassandre Prosper but there is plenty of talent here to where UCONN should be. Noticeably thicker frame and what appears to be a more reliable three ball in this video.
A prior BY video she was a skinny slasher to the basket mostly.

BallOutMedia reported a few months ago that UConn was recruiting Prosper. Haven't been able to confirm but there's nothing public about recruitment. Very similar to Aaliyah Edwards.

Last I've heard is that they were still interested but things can change. The family keeps the recruiting very private which I respect. I don't believe Prosper has any social media presence either. Will be interesting to see what happens this summer with her playing with BecomeOne instead of Kia Nurse Elite.

The HC of that program loves to put stuff out on social media about his players and their recruiting opportunities. However, I take what he puts out with a large grain of salt. He's been the main coach for Todd who had claimed UConn was in her top 5 when she was a 2022 recruit. Since then, she reclassified and there's been no indication as to whether any of those schools are still interested.

Don't forget information on Aaliyah Edwards recruiting was very quiet too, until maybe spring of 2020 when people picked up on UConn being interested. Time will tell.

Mostly everyone who follows the recruiting process knew it was unlikely she was leaving the West Coast. So this isn’t surprising. Cori is not the same coach as Staley. Cori had great talent a few years ago and it didn’t cultivate into something special. So calling this another “Boston” miss is highly unlikely
