First Richard Sherman now this. The reputation of black athletes is taking a hit.
Are you kidding me! How in the world are you making this into a race thing. It doesn't matter what color the player is, pink, purple, or whatever. It was a punk move by a frustrated kid who should have known better.
Reading lips right before the push, the man looks to have said "sorry about that."
Should we expect basic human logic from the institution that hired Bobby Knight after IU finally had enough?Rob Dauster @RobDauster 5m

I don't think this will effect his draft stock much, if at all. He's a bright kid who clearly has a bit of a temper problem - it will probably be resolved in time.
I can't believe anyone is defending him. I don't care what the guy said, you just can't shove a fan who hasn't physically assaulted you. And the fact that you didn't walk out first but walked into the confrontation to begin with is beyond stupid.

Gotta think the site has crashed. Probably wasn't expecting this much traffic.link isnt working for me
He's not been playing very well lately, but if I'm a GM and deciding between a few players of similar abilities, that might make a difference in me picking him at that spot. I think it's been proven enough that professional athletes that show poor character can have a big impact on you franchise, and you're paying these guys a lot of money to help your team win and represent your brand.I don't think this will effect his draft stock much, if at all. Someone on Deadspin found this asshat superfan in another video. Last 5 seconds of video shows him mouthing off and gesturing up yours to an opposing player. Not defending Smart. But I'm pretty sure this douchenozzle said something really offensive.
Regardless, I'm sure there are teams towards the middle of the draft pack licking their chops. Sure, Smart's draft stock is gonna go down, but this kid is super talented and is going to be a great NBA player. In the end, it won't stop teams from wanting him if he's got a little temper issue.

I'm not about to defend Smart for pushing the fan, but if it's proven that this fan said something inappropriate, and has a history of this sort of thing, they should take away his season tickets and never let him back in that building.I was just about to post this.. This fan definitely has some history.

When I saw the replay that fan and ever the woman next to him looked familiar in that it reminded me of some similar last fan situation. Maybe I'm just imagining it.
You make a good point. How he handles himself from this point on will speak volumes.I don't think he's a bad kid. Prior to a couple weeks ago, all we heard about him is how intelligent and well-mannered he is for somebody his age. Shoving a fan is obviously not excusable under any circumstances, but there are a lot of players in the NBA that would probably react in similar fashion if the right thing was said to put them over the top. I'm not defending his actions, but I also don't think they are indicative of his character. How he handles the situation from here will tell us what we need to know about him.
