Just shoved a fan towards the end of this Texas Tech game, currently finishing up on ESPNU

Unbelievable. How he wasn't ejected just for the shove is ridiculous - but not getting a second T for yelling at the ref was also beyond belief.

Kid needs to sit for a few games at least.

OK State is also unraveling, playing their way onto the bubble, the way his season is going downhill he should've went pro

Jeez, and he had to be restrained after the game and ushered back into the locker-room. This is not going to be good for Marcus.

Yep. Remember early this year when he was called "the best leader in college basketball." He, and his team, is coming apart at the seems. Seems like Travis Ford always underachieves as a coach.

Is everyone gonna be calling Marcus Smart a thug now. Not saying what he did was right but his back kind of far from that fan so that fan had to have said something to get a reaction like that, it was a push and not a punch thats a big difference.

It just shows me that he doesn't handle pressure or adversity very well. He also destroyed that chair earlier this year. He would have been the consensus #1 pick in the draft last year, so it sucks for his future that he is imploding mentally...

If I had to guess, he probably got called the n word. I can't imagine what else would provoke a reaction like that.

Talk about kicking your own draft stock in the ass, that's what Smart just did. Not exactly living up to his name.

On a side note, Stevie Clark, a point guard I believe UConn recruited at one point has been recently kicked off the team. Anyone know what was behind that?

The OSU wheels are starting to fall off.

I know he had good reasons for coming back, but he really should've went pro. At least with the kids in the 2011 draft they had the threat of the lockout and a lost season looming over their heads, Smart didn't have any of that. When you're a top 5 pick you gotta go, he hasn't even shown any improvements on his major weakness, his shooting is even worse and now he's becoming unglued as the season goes on.

He'll still make money in the NBA for a long time. He just could have been the #1 pick in the draft, now he might go in the mid-late lottery.

Almost feel bad for him. Young kid losing his compusure. Wonder how many games he will be suspended. Anyone know if there is any precedent?

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the fan said something AWFUL to him. No question about it. He is a star and a well-known player and entity. This old Texas fan must have gone far over the line of what is acceptable to say to any one, let alone a 20 year old kid.
