Was Mahaney a bad fit, or did we put him a role that wasn’t a good fit? I think the later.Completely different player than Mahaney and a much better fit. It's huge if we lock him up.
lol we're so old that we had to google this hahaha
How about both? Was Mahaney a bad fit, or did we put him a role that wasn’t a good fit? I think the later.
We had minutes available and a need for another point guard. AM wasn’t that, at least not in this conference. Given Ball’s emergence, the minutes at the 2 really weren’t there. How about both?
Nah back in my day that kid was looking to hit the slopes, double black diamond baby.
Link to something for confirmation? He just committed
The only thing I see about a commit is second hand on twitter from account I've never heard of quoting a parody account:He just committed

I don't think we should treat this as official.
(that said, I think we've got him)

If we hadn't also missed on Nowell then the Mahaney miss would've been a semi-hit. But b/c Nowell wasn't ready, we needed Mahaney to be able to bend the opposing defense with the ball in his hands (which is something we never asked of Joey and rarely asked of Cam).Kinda both, but more the former.
I think it was mostly just a recruiting miss. The staff did a very good job bringing in portal guys who could fill multiple roles in past years - Joey C and Cam could come in, play on the ball, off the ball and at least fit into the defense. And Joey was a plus basketball IQ and Cam was plus-plus.
Mahaney just wasn’t that versatile and defensively, he just made a bad situation worse.
Great kid, good player, wrong spot.
So this is our backup PG next year?
It looks that way when he officially commits. So this is our backup PG next year?
I was always a Diarra should start at PG guy from game 1. Having said that, we should have used Mahaney as a spot up shooter and secondary ball handler. The two untold stories this season (due to their offensive disappointments) was how much Karaban and Mahaney’s defense improved. True, their defensive ceiling was below Newton/Castle. And Mahaney wasn’t really “switchable”onto a 6-6 swing man or a quick PG. Yet, when we played him we too often failed to make that defensive scheme adjustment.Kinda both, but more the former.

So was Mahaney Hurley’s first choice or the product of a late start fully portalling because of the NC. I don’t recall.
