Nobody thinks that but we shouldn't be having the problems we are having because of the AAC, that's not valid.
Literally nobody is saying this.
Haha, okay, man.
I'll take that bet. If UConn ends next season in the Top 25 I'll send $100. to the Calhoun Cardiology Center. You'll do the same if they don't?Next season we will end the season in the top 25. Book it.
Ha. I'm with you.
You're seriously disagreeing? You're dumber than I thought . . .
I haven't seen this in the thread yet (but who knows). maybe a touch of insight:
I can't take someone who thinks the best we can do is King Rice seriously, there's problems but that's offensive. As for the "raging inferno" putting words in my mouth is a great way to start a page long whine about being called out for being wrong, all while doing it in a signature doosh fashion. Finally, "likes" are a way to estimate public support for something or another, there's nothing childish about mentioning it, but if your name calling I can tell you are desperate at this point.
Can anyone really be shocked by players wanting to leave? Seems like half of this board is convinced UConn is a sinking ship and that's from supposed die-hard fans. What do you expect from kids who have far less of a connection to the school?
This is the part I think a lot of people are missing. Neither MAL or Alterique seem like the guy who leaves for the NBA early so that's a direct competition between 2 PGs for all 4 years. And that's without the other guards we'll presumably recruit in the coming yearsTough. Hope all of this lights a fire under the players who are left.
I don't think UConn/KO is ever gonna have trouble attracting top guards. With the lineage of Kemba, Shabazz, and Boatright continuing through Jalen, we are gonna be a destination for top PGs for a while to come. The fact that we have IT4's former coach as our new star recruiter is only gonna help that.
Alterique is gonna be a freshman next year (knock wood) and it doesn't surprise me this kid doesn't want to compete with him for 4 years. Plenty of guards to target in 2018. Even a couple good ones left in 2017.
Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt though..
Plans B, C, D, E and F are already in play, so I guess it's time for the plan G contingency.
Wake me when however many players we still have in October are ready to play.
2014 looks more and more like lightning in a bottle. It shouldn't be the basis of any future expectations here.I think the kid thinks he can go to a better situation (and P5 school) and play 30 minutes a game.
When we got put on probation guys left. But the guys who stayed became legends.
Maybe history can repeat itself.
My point is more about the players staying and wanting to be here(when they could have left) and how they were viewed for doing it more than the NC.2014 looks more and more like lightning in a bottle. It shouldn't be the basis of any future expectations here.
Because we lost an incoming recruit who has never played a single college basketball game?Im sure ill get bombed for this but we could be seeing the beginning of the end of this program being among the elite. It is absolutely shocking how far this program has fallen in 3 years. We are in an absolute free fall and if we have another season finishing under 500 Ollie is gone and it may be the nail in the coffin for this program.

I understand, but I see a lot of people here think that this is some grand rebuilding scheme KO has that will result in our usual title run after 4-5 years. Shabazz Napier pulled a title out of his ass, and KO seems to be screwing the pooch ever since. My point is more about the players staying and wanting to be here(when they could have left) and how they were viewed for doing it more than the NC.
No. Its because since the title year we`re 62-43 and have not finished better than 5th in a crap conference. We`ve missed out on one recruit after another now we have guys jumping ship like the Titanic and oh yeah we also have staff being let go. None of these things in themselves should be a big deal but added up its clear this program has some serious issues and things arent looking bright.Because we lost an incoming recruit who has never played a single college basketball game?

You get rid of Ollie and replace him with who? Tom Creene? lol! If Ollie goes we need to make a big splash because another program guy isnt going to do it. I like Ollie but one thing ive been disappointed in has been his inability to recruit on a top tier level. If we have another .500 season, firing Ollie may be the only chance we get to avoid the scenario you describe.
If he gets 10 years to run the program completely into the ground, then it's over. We may still have time to pull out of the nosedive in the next 2-3 years.
I'd rather him pull it out of his ass than not at all. In sure the rest of the country would agree if it was their team. Don't forget Calhoun after '09 wasn't killing it either. He got saved by kemba. He game has changed and Ollie has realized it bringing chill in bc of his aau connections.I understand, but I see a lot of people here think that this is some grand rebuilding scheme KO has that will result in our usual title run after 4-5 years.
