I haven't seen this in the thread yet (but who knows). maybe a touch of insight:

Nobody thinks that but we shouldn't be having the problems we are having because of the AAC, that's not valid.

It is completely valid. Its not a good conference. WTF have you been watching?

I think the kid thinks he can go to a better situation (and P5 school) and play 30 minutes a game.

When we got put on probation guys left. But the guys who stayed became legends.

Maybe history can repeat itself.

Tough. Hope all of this lights a fire under the players who are left.

I don't think UConn/KO is ever gonna have trouble attracting top guards. With the lineage of Kemba, Shabazz, and Boatright continuing through Jalen, we are gonna be a destination for top PGs for a while to come. The fact that we have IT4's former coach as our new star recruiter is only gonna help that.

Alterique is gonna be a freshman next year (knock wood) and it doesn't surprise me this kid doesn't want to compete with him for 4 years. Plenty of guards to target in 2018. Even a couple good ones left in 2017.

Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt though..

Ha. I'm with you.

The scenario begins with some serious dirt being unearthed on KO that explains all the departures. KO gets canned, Hurley gets hired and Oz spontaneously combusts.

You're seriously disagreeing? You're dumber than I thought . . .

Give it a rest. People on here have been negating the fact that the AAC is TERRIBLE for us for years now. Too stubborn to admit it. My hope is now we as fans can begin actively advocating for a change in scenery, Big East or Bust.

Can anyone really be shocked by players wanting to leave? Seems like half of this board is convinced UConn is a sinking ship and that's from supposed die-hard fans. What do you expect from kids who have far less of a connection to the school?

I can't take someone who thinks the best we can do is King Rice seriously, there's problems but that's offensive. As for the "raging inferno" putting words in my mouth is a great way to start a page long whine about being called out for being wrong, all while doing it in a signature doosh fashion. Finally, "likes" are a way to estimate public support for something or another, there's nothing childish about mentioning it, but if your name calling I can tell you are desperate at this point.

So who are you thinking? Who's your target coach who you honestly think is attainable? You got me, it was another poster whose username starts with the same letter as yours who said "raging inferno" verbatim and not you. But it's a sentiment that gets continually expressed around here, plenty of people are saying things that by your logic imply they "think lowly" of the program or whatever.

I'm sorry if it bothers you that sometimes my opinions are supported by others who feel the same way? I don't know what to tell you there.

My point exactly...

This is the part I think a lot of people are missing. Neither MAL or Alterique seem like the guy who leaves for the NBA early so that's a direct competition between 2 PGs for all 4 years. And that's without the other guards we'll presumably recruit in the coming years

2014 looks more and more like lightning in a bottle. It shouldn't be the basis of any future expectations here.

.....didn't MAL hear we may play Wichita State next year? Hope this decision wasn't premature.

Im sure ill get bombed for this but we could be seeing the beginning of the end of this program being among the elite. It is absolutely shocking how far this program has fallen in 3 years. We are in an absolute free fall and if we have another season finishing under 500 Ollie is gone and it may be the nail in the coffin for this program.

My point is more about the players staying and wanting to be here(when they could have left) and how they were viewed for doing it more than the NC.

Because we lost an incoming recruit who has never played a single college basketball game?

If we have another .500 season, firing Ollie may be the only chance we get to avoid the scenario you describe.

If he gets 10 years to run the program completely into the ground, then it's over. We may still have time to pull out of the nosedive in the next 2-3 years.

Ok things are a bit alarming due to the timing of all of this news. But we will see how things work out with he new staff not just Chillious but Killings too after a full year.

We didn't lose Ray, Caron, Rudy, Kemba or anyone please remember that. I know they could all leave, I still bleed blue. The people who continue to crap on KO and the things happening hope you're not here when it all returns because you just don't deserve to be, it's that simple. No issues expressing concerns there has to be but calling us a mid major for good, we're never going to be a blue bold, we suck it's over - go away find another team please it's really pitiful to read.

I understand, but I see a lot of people here think that this is some grand rebuilding scheme KO has that will result in our usual title run after 4-5 years. Shabazz Napier pulled a title out of his ass, and KO seems to be screwing the pooch ever since.

No. Its because since the title year we`re 62-43 and have not finished better than 5th in a crap conference. We`ve missed out on one recruit after another now we have guys jumping ship like the Titanic and oh yeah we also have staff being let go. None of these things in themselves should be a big deal but added up its clear this program has some serious issues and things arent looking bright.

Shabazz pulled a title out his ass and JC pulled the 2011 out of Kemba's ass right? LOL...he kept players here that year but now it's pure BS because now a few leave. C'mon can't have it both ways.

Cause for concern hell yeah. Cause to jump off as well as attack the guy, I say absolutely not!

You get rid of Ollie and replace him with who? Tom Creene? lol! If Ollie goes we need to make a big splash because another program guy isnt going to do it. I like Ollie but one thing ive been disappointed in has been his inability to recruit on a top tier level.

I'd rather him pull it out of his ass than not at all. In sure the rest of the country would agree if it was their team. Don't forget Calhoun after '09 wasn't killing it either. He got saved by kemba. He game has changed and Ollie has realized it bringing chill in bc of his aau connections.
