Liam McNeeley Appreciation Thread

He fell just a few points short from setting the mark for the most points by a Freshman this year. I believe Flagg had a 42-point game.

Can we talk about how they cleaned up their turnover situation? Only 6 tonight!
That was mostly a function of how Creighton defends, they aren't a ball pressure team, but still a positive thing.

Beyond the gutsy shot making, he had a couple moments where you can see how amazing his calm and instincts are. The loose ball he grabbed after being on the floor, picked it up calmly, assessed the floor and took it right to the rim. The smart foul end of game to send Neal to the line. Was also fearless taking it at Kalk and finishing. A game for the ages right there. Kind of effort that makes you feel lucky to be a fan, seeing a kid that talented come out. Picked up every other player on the floor tonight.

Many of us here knew that January was going to be ugly without Liam. February is spring come early. Here’s hoping to a great finish to the year with a healthy Liam. Special player.

I knew he was good - I didn’t know he was this good. It really does add a new layer of possibilities with this team. He’s a really versatile chess piece, as a kid with a really good handle at his size. It gives you a chance to move the rest of your lineup around to create mismatches.

This was a very different kind of good than what we saw with Solo at Marquette. Liam is a full on Swiss Army knife.

If he can keep this up, Solo regains form, AK books a couple therapy sessions, things could get interesting.

Our closer is back and healthy. Great floor game as our point forward in addition to his epic shot-making display. Was also disruptive on D when matched up with Ashworth. Wall of Fame performance.

The upcoming Seton Hall game is another excellent shot to experiment with bigger lineups with McNeeley on-ball a LOT more.

When he flipped from IU to UConn, combination of size, skill, IQ, Montverde, moxie got me super giddy and damn, is he amazing.

What was the nickname Manning got when he led Kansas to a chip. Maybe Liam will earn a similar nickname. I watched the game from a poker room with no sound. Most of the games had broken and it was quiet except for me yelling at the TV especially when Alex went to the line and bricked the front end of the one and one. Man what is up with him.
