How does Karaban feel right now?
that's what I was saying on discord. doesn't feel right. The one saving grace I’m holding on to is there is no way Hurley convinced Karaban to come back while talking with the Lakers. That seems outside of his character
like an idiot. betrayed. How does Karaban feel right now?
What makes you think he convinced him?The one saving grace I’m holding on to is there is no way Hurley convinced Karaban to come back while talking with the Lakers. That seems outside of his character
Karaban’s own words. He said something like, I’m paraphrasing, “ coach knew this is what was best for me”What makes you think he convinced him?
As has been mentioned by other posters here: Amico is a hack. If he's saying it's likely that Hurley stays, that makes me feel worse.Perhaps a piece of positive news...
Lakers Set To Make Huge Offer To Dan Hurley, But He's Likely To Stay At UConn
"There’s no word on how Hurley feels about such a looming offer, though sources have told Hoops Wire they believe he is likely to remain at UConn and continue to build championship contenders."
It’s not an assumption. Karaban said that Hurley thought it was the best decision for him. If you think part of his reasoning for coming back wasn’t to be coached by Hurley you’re out of your mindThe assumption that Hurley "convinced" Karaban to come back and somehow lied to him is odd. We have a stack of NIL that was promised to him, with or without the coach. He came back for that, and because he wasn't going in the first round.
Next
The timing makes it all 10x worse. How would we even fill out our roster? We’d be back in the basement
Thank you, I'm desperate for any good news right now whether it's a significant article or notPerhaps a piece of positive news...

yep saw that too. maybe preparing for the worst, but hoping for the bestTrilly said the staff is preparing for him to go.

Lol, you don't think that Hurley wasn't in contact with the Lakers prior to that off the cuff comment, right? I mean Hurley didn't just go "Golly, Geno's right!" After last night's roadshow, reach out to the Lakers, and be in an in-depth negotiation with with them this morning, right?
UGH it sounds like its overThe posts from Trilly are not encouraging
The leak/story coming from Woj as an NBA guy almost means it is via the Lakers and it included a LOT more details on what the Lakers are doing, possible Lakers-based reasoning and that they are working up an offer. And as I've said the timing WREAKS of Lakers 'pay attention to US' behavior coming on the eve of game 1 of the NBA finals. Now this gets mentioned on the telecast and the Lakers & LeBron stay relevant.
Silver lining there is that press strategy could mean this is more of a headline play than an actual imminent deal. The JJ Reddick rumor was played out and had turned to mostly negative response. And unlike typical Woj bombs which are done deals this is news of an offer.
Sincerely doubt AD David Benedict has not had contract conversation with Hurley and his agent. Perhaps they have not gotten to the point of sending out an official offer but no way they haven't talked numbers. Also, as an FYI, they didn't announce last year's extension till June 22nd, so it ain't something new or harbinger of bad news that he hadn't signed the new one.
