USC seems to be backing away from playing Notre Dame every year. Scheduling and travel concerns with USC now in the Big 10 seem to be an issue as well as how difficult USC's schedule is some years. Next year, they are scheduled to play at Indiana, at Penn St, Ohio St, Oregon, Washington, and possibly Notre Dame. After the tentative 2026 game with Notre Dame, ND and USC do not have any future scheduled games.

Notre Dame's relationship with the ACC locks in 5 games per season which means Notre Dame has to schedule 7 games. If Notre Dame went fully independent, I would think they would have a tough time scheduling 12 games with a reasonable number of tough opponents each year. Scheduling difficulties is one of the reason Notre Dame signed up to play Clemson every year.

Seriously? ND hissy fit aside, folks line up to play ND. They have NO issues scheduling folks.

All for the benefit of the student athlete……

They are turning this into a professional development league. At which point the fan base will simply gravitate to the NBA rather than a second rate minor league.

High profile coaches like Hurley, Self, maybe Schyer and others have to really come out against this in the off season. This is like allowing teams to make teade deadline deals.

This is getting really crazy

So John Tonje played 4 years at Colorado State, then Missouri, and now Wisconsin. So he is giving up his draft to the NBA and playing at Wisconsin. But why 4 more years of eligibility? I am way out of the loop here, what am I missing

James Nnaji started playing for FC Barcelona but hasn't played any college ball. I guess he is kind of like Nadav except he was playing with the NBA team this summer.

It’s a joke / not actually real, Tonje isn’t actually returning to CBB. Just someone making fun of the situation with Baylor.

I'm a little slow on the uptake. Many of the commenters didn't get the joke either I guess. 😎
We've had so many great college players in that weren't NBA level so it's unreal how they missed out and the kids today are making a killing. I don't think it can last.

I mean, I don't think it came across well in my comment but I certainly wasn't complaining, moreso pointing out how silly it is to complain about a teensy little digressing on occasion, especially if it's not like the topic is particularly hopping at that point anyways. If something of note comes up, someone will post it and the topic will get back on track; if the digression becomes long enough it'll get split into its own thread; and if the digression was a complete non-sequitor from the start it'll get removed. No use sweating over it.
