Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Why do they need a conference tie in at this point, as long as they can fill their schedule they have a pathway to CFP assuming they can finish in the top 12 of the AP. Wouldn’t that be even easier with a carefully crafted schedule as an Indy?
They need the ACC for all other sports. For football it’s a scheduling agreement, 4-5 ACC games per year

Look I’m no ND fan but I can absolutely understand where the Irish are coming from. They are still in the ACC in 24 sports. The ACC was lobbying for Duke too when they had a 0.1% chance of making the playoff. It wouldn’t have hurt to say something like “Pick Miami but we’d be happy for ND if they get in” or something like that.
ACC doesn’t get any money if ND gets in

I don’t understand conference politics so help me out here. Which of these 3 is realistic?
  1. ND goes to SEC/B10/B12 in non-football and stays independent in football like they’ve been doing
  2. They find a new conference for all sports
  3. ND goes to the Big East for non-football
  4. #3 happens, UConn sees an open spot in ACC basketball, tries to jump into it with an agreement that football has to come too?
Sec or B1g will not take them without FB
But b12 or ACC will, so that’s the most likely scenario

Not immediately. But the more successful ND is, the more valuable are the regular season games vs ND. That's why the ACC and ND play those 5 games per season in the first place. If ND has a bad run, those games become much less of a draw. Hopefully to the point that younger generations don't care about ND. Go Hoosiers!

How about the sportswriters not rank ND so high in the first place. Keep them out of the top 12.

Is it that crazy to think if Notre Dame does finally join the B10 for all sports, that UConn is the only option left to fill their spot in the ACC? Would they seriously take Memphis/USF/Tulane over us?

1) ND is not joining the B10 anytime soon
2) This is a leverage play with the ACC, hoping to get more concessions -- eg on the opponents for their required ACC games
3) If the ACC says no, they go to the B12

I really doubt they wouldn’t figure it out if Notre Dame wanted in to the B10.

The B1G knows that the day ND gives up football independence they're joining the B1G. They'll only sacrifice leverage if they allow an all but football option. They'll let ND jerk around another conference until ND can no longer remain independent.

Does a bear crap in the woods, did the golden doomers get left out of the CFP, was F Troop the funniest show about the Wild West? ACC wouldn't take UConn if tobacco road was on fire and the only source of water was the Connecticut River. Overly dramatic, yes, but on point. You bet your ass they would take Memphis/USF/Tulane over us cuz stupid is as stupid does.

I don't know about the Big 12 and ND but the parasite has to move on and find a new host.

I was actually just checking out Locked on Big 12. Here they were discussing how the ACC was dragging ND 2 weeks ago when they figured ND would be in the CFP. I believe they have a new podcast tomorrow addressing ND and the ACC

NBC would be the ones most in favor of ND going to the B1G, what is this guy talking about?

Currently, they have to pay both ND and the B1G for subpar games. If ND joined the B1G, they would stop having two pay both and would get a pick of much better games.
