A10 would not even be slightly interested in NIUInteresting. The MAC has been pretty stable with easy travel and traditional rivals. Must be a lot more money for NIU, especially considering they are now going to have to find a home for all their other sports in a conference(s) that doesn't have football. It could be a lesser conference than the MAC which would narrow the money difference. Would the A10 want them to fill UMass's spot?
It does make you wonder about UConn turning down the PAC if that was true. I think the PAC was paying more than the MWC? We would've had to travel just a handful of times per year. It must pay better than Independent and help with scheduling and a playoff spot. Maybe the UConn administration thinks we're closer with a Power conference than what we know?

I'm sure AD David Benedict has sent the "heyNow as I said, I have given up hope in this....but...didn't back in September when the Big 12 said they were pausing talks with UConn, it was said they would likely pick back up come the winter? So now?

It was Flugaur who said we would hear that talks are continuing. He is non-key.Now as I said, I have given up hope in this....but...didn't back in September when the Big 12 said they were pausing talks with UConn, it was said they would likely pick back up come the winter? So now?

Interesting- that is the take I have been hearing as well.Yormark still wants it to happen.
UConn is critical to his plan of uncoupling the bball rights.
Also we better hope it gets done, because I think he will quit if the Big 12 Presidents turn him down again and that will be our last best advocate in a “Power” Conference.

While I defer to your expertise here, he doesn't meet the established criteria. He might be a bit more key these days. But who knows.
HCJM and the football program did their part this season, capped off with a PWhatever win and huge husky nation showing at Fenway. Now it's up to M and W's hoops to do theirs. Fingers crossed for two Final Four appearances and hopefully a NC. Gotta feel good about it with Hurley and Auriemma at the helms.Yormark still wants it to happen.

I mean no offense to you personally, but I hate this sentiment that there is always something “more” needed by UConn, particularly from the basketball teams. Nobody has ever been held to this standard.HCJM and the football program did their part this season, capped off with a PWhatever win and huge husky nation showing at Fenway. Exactly. The more is always an excuse to pick someone else. Hard to reach the final 4 every yearI mean no offense to you personally, but I hate this sentiment that there is always something “more” needed by UConn, particularly from the basketball teams. Nobody has ever been held to this standard.
It is not up to the hoops programs or any of our other sports. It is up to our AD to make this happen. We have a great outspoken football coach. Our Men's and Women's Hoops Programs and Coaches don't need to say a word as the actions and history are beyond the highest bar. The quiet front is our AD office. I am fine with this if things are happening behind the scenes. None taken. I share your distaste. And while not directly stated, I was not suggesting more is needed, simply acknowledging the "what have you done for me lately" attitude of the LCD sports fan and, unfortunately, knucklehead B12 ADs and presidents.I mean no offense to you personally, but I hate this sentiment that there is always something “more” needed by UConn, particularly from the basketball teams. They have to close rank internally. No leaks to glory hound Podcaster types.UConn has to get in before it gets out in media. Once UConn name gets out there the “college football southern protectors of the holy oblong football” will try and kill UConn getting into any conference.
I am more worried about UConn Big East apologists trying to sabotage UConn moving to another conference. They have to close rank internally. No leaks to glory hound Podcaster types.
My criteria is they are key if I like what they say, otherwise non-key.While I defer to your expertise here, he doesn't meet the established criteria.
Like I said, keep it under wraps til it's a done deal. AD, President, and a few key stakeholders I would say.I am more worried about UConn Big East apologists trying to sabotage UConn moving to another conference.
^^^ THISSSSSSSSSS!!!! I'll never understand the "basketball only" fans, but there are a lot of them and they don't understand why football and basketball need each other...I am more worried about UConn Big East apologists trying to sabotage UConn moving to another conference.
Board of Trustees, President, AD, whichever university attorney must be in loop.AD, President, and a few key stakeholders I would say.
