This is why we need to get into a power conference. NIL is about to get out of control beyond what we bring in for revenue. But one could also argue its why ACC and Big12 are destined to fall out of Power status.

It will bifurcate between a pure professional wild west model and something that resembles college athletics as we might previously have recognized it. Very few athletic departments will be able to or want to compete at the highest level. The payroll costs will be uncontrollable, at least for a while.

A lot of programs in the P4 are going to exit that model. They will have to. UCONN will probably never compete at the highest level, but there are going to be a whole lot of programs that come back to us.

Crazy. Oklahoma (5-5) lost 5 games: Tenn, Tex, SC, Ole Miss, Missou. All ranked. Now has to play #7 Bama and LSU (orv). It's what they wanted and could finish 5-7.
This is what I thought would happen to Oklahoma honestly. They should get used to being an afterthought. Maybe they can rekindle their series with Nebraska for the Didn’t you used to be Important Cup.

They’ll prob make more sitting at home as SEC team vs playing in decent bowl for big12

Oklahoma is a great example of people caring about $ over wins in college athletics. They will be a punching bag in SEC for years to come.
Oklahoma is an above average SEC program, but I think they will struggle to be one of the top programs. I think the SEC and Big 10 will go to division or pods in the future as you want more schools in the conference to win something each year.
