Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

So 10 years of actions are the problem? When did they sign the GOR? About 10 years ago? Why keep agreeing to extend the contract?

Keep in mind that the entire purpose of the ACC grant of rights was to deliberately make the exit scenarios draconian so no one would leave early, which makes FSU's position so disingenuous. That said, it's not impossible that they find a friendly judge in Florida to give them a hometown ruling. Another possible approach would see the FL legislature attempt to nullify the grant of rights.

Greg Flugaur is live. There is talk that the end game here is FSU will be B1G school number #19. At that point, Notre Dame and North Carolina are targeted for #20. If neither jump, it will be between Clemson and Miami for the #20 spot in the B1G.

If they leave and don't allow other schools the option to join, it becomes an anti-trust issue.
Why? Don't they have free association rights? Tough to say that a startup league is less competitive than only having a single league.

Did Greg forget how to add? If FSU is member #19, then Notre Dame and UNC or Clemson and Miami cannot both be #20.

No. It's an either-or deal in that order. Notre Dame. North Carolina. Clemson. Miami.

ESPN not having a guarantee to extend the deal past 2027 is HUGE. That is FSU's out right there.
Per the reports today ESPN has a unilateral right to extend past 2027, which means that ESPN does have that contractual guarantee, which FSU will be legally challenging in its litigation.

Yes, they have the right to - but it does not mean they will. That means the GoR only exists, as of now, through 2027.

Maybe UConn can clean up its football program and be in some more bowl games over the next few years before a few teams leave the ACC

Also, the ACC went against the conference bylaws in signing this contract with ESPN. According to conference bylaws, each school must vote to extend the ESPN agreement. That is a legal loophole right there. The schools did not vote on this. ACC conference bylaws were broken in this contract.
