Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Culturally, FSU and Clemson should be in the SEC and UNC and UVA should be in the B1G.

Money-wise and dealing with current weaknesses in the P2, it's the exact opposite. FSU and Clemson are worth more in the B1G and UNC and UVA are worth more in the SEC. Plus, FSU now has a grudge against ESPN and the SEC that is larger than the grudge Notre Dame has with the B1G.

The SEC does not want or need them.

Cultural fits don’t justify diluting the money.

I know collusion is illegal, but I think the B1G and Big 12 indirectly colluded to blow up the PAC-12. What if we see this happen to the ACC with the SEC joining the fray? If UVA/VT and UNC/NCST are tied at the hip, what if we see this........

SEC - UVA, VT, UNC, NCST (maybe Duke) - stranglehold on the only southern states not in the SEC
B1G - FSU, Clemson, Miami (maybe GT) - foothold into the southeast, a truly national conference
Big 12 - Pittsburgh, Louisville, Syracuse - rivals for the eastern flank, continuing with the historically strong basketball theme.

All 3 conferences can get what they want from the ACC without coming off as the bad guy. Just like the B1G and Big 12 did with the PAC-12.

In purgatory: Boston College, Wake Forest, SMU, Cal, Stanford

FSU is just the start. Look for other schools to follow in FSU's footsteps and go to legal war with the ACC. Does the ACC fight it tooth and nail or does the ACC try to reach a consensus with the departing schools to save itself as a conference in a way the PAC-12 could not?

It will be sweet whe Rutgers kicks their Fanny:D

Can’t wait for all the people who said “No Big 12- wait for the ACC collapse and join that league then” last year to now switch to “why would we want to join that league when their best teams are gone??”

SEC might not want them but pretty sure B1G would love to have Florida State.

In the end, ESPiN will force the SEC to take FSU just to keep it away from Fox and the B1G. If I am Fox, I get B1G to take FSU and North Carolina right now.

The more I think about it, the more FSU to the B1G is actually a win for everyone involved:

- B1G invites Florida State for play beginning in 2025, Seminoles accept before August 15, 2024 deadline

- FSU agrees to pull a SMU/ACC deal with the Big Ten, forfeiting tv revenue from the league until the ACC GOR expires in 2036

- FSU borrows the expected TV revenue from the B1G per annum from JP Morgan, who they’ve already hired as a strategic partner for the Athletic Department

- B1G adds another football power to the league to increase long term strength of the league and open FL for recruiting

- B1G TV partners get increased ratings from games with FSU without having to immediately pony up additional cash to the league

- Long term TV rights for the B1G increase and they’re in a better position for the next TV negotiations in 2030

Seems like a win for everyone

UNC is the coveted prize. FSU is in for a very rude awakening.

Is UConn better off staying in the Big East and being independent in football or joining this conference:

Boston College, Wake Forest, SMU, Cal, Stanford, Oregon State, Washington State, perhaps a few top G5 teams.

And there it is! Took all of 32 minutes

Well it’s already the G7. Plus it wouldn’t change their fate much by adding UConn instead.
UConn is the only brand in the list you named. We all know our value is minimal but it’s more than Memphis and Tulane. SMU got in because they’re playing for free essentially.
