Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Oh, I finally get it! This is the WF Car Wash Range Rover guy? You are right not to fight him, he may stop giving you his inside info. I guess I'm not sure why someone would want to fight in real life over inside info about CR.

Eh - I'd kill all these people for a couple of Oreos.

I don't fight spoiled, entitled brats who rolled into Storrs on Range Rovers that daddy bought and think that 18 years of getting everything they want handed to them extends them carte blanche when it comes to behaving inappropriately and immaturely in public.

Ask me about my family of "", buddy. Ask me how many thousands of dollars we've given to the athletic department across multiple sports. Ask me how many years we've held season tickets. Ask me how many times one of the "" living in my house has negotiated the signing and extension of Hall of Fame UConn coaches. And just for kicks, ask me about our service on the Downtown Partnership and efforts to hasten development in Storrs Center.

Tool.

The Food for Thought truck and subway

Never heard of the truck. Subway was further, more expensive and not as good as Ted's, so, superfluous. Those 2 for $1 Wawa hot dogs...always tasted good, but how many years did they take off of my life?

Lol, I have to believe those 10 pm cheeseburger grinders weren't a good thing either.

I know this is insane, but I really believe that UConn should look at moving the main campus to Stamford over the next 20 years.

Taking Conference Realignment and athletics out of the equation altogether, having campus located 45 minutes to Grand Central Station and NYC would be a boon academically. It would allow our grad programs more access to top tier companies and institutions, while giving our undergrads a leg up in securing internships and jobs after graduation.

Being that close would allow the school to secure top professionals to serve as adjunct faculty as well.

If more UConn undergrads get exposed to opportunities in NYC, you are creating more potential NYC-located grads, increasing their net worth and building a stronger alumni network.

I love Storrs and I wouldn't of traded my 4 years there for anything, but let's be real, geographically it may as well be Siberia. Being 90 minutes from Boston and 2.5 hours from NYC is nice, but being 45 minutes from NYC would be nicer and a serious game-changer for the college.

Go ahead and crucify me. I'm ready for it.

The plan is in the works, sort of. UCONN will never move the mothership to an urban setting. However, they are building the Stamford campus very significantly. I bet the ultimate goal is to house the programs that would benefit from urban proximity in Stamford.

Luxury. When I was there we had Hardees (made the mistake of opening the bun once, the meat was green) and Paul's Pizza horrible burnt black crust more often than not (but to be fair breakfast didn't suck).

Whatever happened to the Subway truck that used to park near old South Campus? That as good; but, also shows low limited the choices in Storrs were. Looking back, maybe that was the first food truck ever?

I live in Mansfield, dammit.

Any update on moving EO Smith to the Depot campus? That would solve a lot or problems by giving UConn more land in the core part of campus, get Mansfield & co a new high school, and remove the 'interaction' between the their kids interacting with UConn student, which I know is a big fear of the locals.

There's a TBell in willi. ECSU kids have all the fun

Drove to Willi twice ever. Freshman year I went with a friend (who later went to ECSU) and two girls. Cops pulled us over. Told us to leave and not come back, because we were likely to get shot. Hence making only one more visit over the next 4 years.

It's a hot topic at the moment.

There's some issues that need ironing out first. There are major traffic and transportation problems that are going to need creative solutions. There's also the issue of who will be financially responsible for demolition of the old Mansfield training school buildings, which contain asbestos and other toxic materials.

In the end, I think it will happen. It's going to take awhile to figure out the details though.

first food truck: Woody's- started as a step van parked starting in 1970-71 nightly in front of the Jungle-GREAT cheeseburg grinders. Later upgraded to a retired school bus & parked in the lot opposite Northwest Campus near the ROTC Hangar.

Meh.. I lived at the Hale when I was at Eastern. We had friendly drug dealers and hookers.

Interesting that they'd vote no. I made it in, I'm not letting anyone else in, esp schools that were first to offer me a hand years ago when I was stuck in MWC.

Or because they know that an expansion vote of yes will include AT LEAST one more team from Texas (at minimum Houston).

Right now, TCU has positioned them selves nicely at the top of the pecking order in Texas. If Houston joins, that is just another threat to TCU (in terms of recruits, attention, fans, $, etc). And it isn't unreasonable to think that TCU will find a landing spot in one of the P5 leagues once the B12 explodes in the future (which we all know is going to happen at this point without expansion). So a no vote from TCU actually makes some sense for them.

What does the C stand for? The religious schools prove time and again that they are anything but.

Bohls: OSU’s Pickens disses Boren, Gundy; Formula 1 is banking...

>>1. T. Boone Pickens said he likes the current 10-team Big 12 configuration the way it is and would prefer adding Houston and SMU if the league grows, but that’s “probably unlikely.” The Oklahoma State benefactor said on our “On Second Thought” podcast that Oklahoma president David Boren has been wishy-washy about expansion and that “maybe it’s time for David to retire.” Some outlets reported Tuesday that the mercurial Boren is saying he’s decided against expansion, but Boren clarified his stance, saying “Oklahoma has not yet taken a position on expansion.” Pickens, who has given $500 million to his alma mater, said, “I’ve known David forever. He likes to talk. He gets a little bit confused sometimes.” Pickens said he and Cowboys coach Mike Gundy aren’t talking. “I don’t have any conversations with Gundy,” he said. Is there a rift? “I don’t know, but Mike doesn’t handle people relationships very well. And he gets mad about things. I’ve heard he’s written some notes about me that weren’t very complimentary.”<<

What a cluster...

Tramel: Who talks too much? David Boren or Boone Pickens?

Delaney responding to rumors Texas and OU are looking for life rafts.

I can't see Delany ever taking Texas into the B1G. However, a successor may go for Texas to make his own mark on the conference

Which, translated, is Delaney saying 'we aren't coming to them but we sure as hell would be thrilled if/when they come to us."

Delaney absolutely wants Texas. Believe me. He does. He's looking for one last power play before he retires and landing Texas would do just that.
