Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

And ECU chimes in. This one also looks desperate.

Pirate Nation - lol... and delivering the whole state of North Carolina... OK

this whole show is so pathetic. asking schools outside of the P5 to send you a letter to express interest in joining the P5? Seriously?

everyone's interested. there you go. if your data says you should invite literally any school in the G5, outside of maybe the Ivy League, they're interested in joining the Big 12. there's no need to have presidents and ADs publicly getting down on their hands and knees to beg you for consideration. this is disrespectful.

Houston would be a major drag on the Big 12. A&M owns that city and always will. It makes no difference how they do on the field.

No to mention U Texas and LSU, which is not far away, while they also have to compete with several pro teams - Astros, Texans, Rockets & even the local MLS team that draws 19K a game.

Don't you know that competing with pro sports isn't a big deal unless you're UConn?

Especially BC, Tom Brady's cut finger will get more local press than BC's football and basketball programs combined this year.

.-.
Have these people that think Houston to the Big 12 is a sure thing seen their crowds recently at basketball games? Man, I know football drives the bus, but I don't think UConn has played in front of more depressing and smaller crowds this millennium and that includes games at Tulane and ECU. Houston was not even able to get sell-out crowds for football games in what amounted to their dream season. The city of Houston simply does not care about the University of Houston.

We sold out multiple games this past season. In fact we outdrew UCONN by thousands so if nobody cares about us then what does that say about UCONN? Oh and also keep in mind that we had as many games in the Top 10 TV ratings in the Houston market as the entire Big 12. Let's also not forget that UCONN didn't draw a single game over 30k this past season. You guys are so desperate to try and discredit us that it's downright laughable. If you guys didn't try to sue the ACC, you'd probably be in it right now. UCONN has nobody to blame but themselves and perhaps Boston College.

Such a safety school response.

It kind of feels like they are looking to create a defense to a tampering or interference with contract claim against the Big 12. They don't instigate the process but they will respond to someone else's initiative.

Tom Brady cutting a fart would get more press.
And their would be a 15 page thread on the Boneyard as to the implications of the Ideal Gas Law on the dispertion of the fumes.

Too bad it's not getting UCONN into the ACC or B1G and it probably won't get them into the Big 12 either.

Let's not pretend that Houston has been athletically relevant in the last thirty years. Let's also not pretend that anything but UT wanting a campus in your city has you on the short list for the Big XII.

As far as selling tickets, let's hope your basketball "fans" outnumber Central Connecticut State's basketball fans this season. That would be a good start.

Not enough action on Coog High's board? Not enough UH fans with internet access? Did your mascot lose another "finger"? bag convention select you as its goodwill ambassador?

Tell us, to what do we owe this unexpected string of bad posts?

@Cougar Hippy WTF is Houston gonna do when UT comes calling for Hermann? Even if you get into the B-12..they can give him WHAT EVER he wants! And when he walks into ANY Texas HS in puke Burnt Orange (yes I was a OU/Brian Bosworth fan growing up) he certainly will carry a LOT more weight than wearing red and white of UH. Fertitta can say all he wants...Herman is gone to Austin if UT offers him the job! Then you'll be like Memphis fans are right now...talking about how their new coach will do as good or better than the one he replaced!

I don't know what's sadder - getting trolled by a fan of a school who is at best the 5th most relevant in their own state (behind UT, A&M, Tech and TCU and possibly tied with SMU) AND whose last greatest accomplishment was over 30 years ago (Phi Slamma Jamma), or thinking that if they do get in the B12, they will suddenly become more relevant?

Yet you Houston leeches are cashing checks earned from UConn's last two NS
Maybe you should return the money you did nothing to earn.

Wow if you replace the word "Houston," that story is still eerily familiar.

Nothing says confidence like arguing on another teams message board. Thanks for recognizing that UConn is a real threat.

Eyes on Texas: Five years later, yes, ESPN still ‘fully committed’ to LHN

Just about everyone has expressed some kind of opinion about the UT-centric network, which started with 20,000 subscribers in Texas five years ago but now boasts 20 million coast to coast.

As for the all the negativity, Stephanie Druley said she “stopped reading that a long time ago.” Over the last five years, the UT graduate launched the channel in 2011 and has seen her career rocket into the stratosphere at ESPN. Now a senior vice president, Druley is responsible for everything viewers see on all ESPN networks involving college sports, the NFL and Major League Baseball.

But LHN will always remain on her radar.

Druley said ESPN was charged with creating a platform for all UT sports that is, as stated in the contract, “first class in all respects.” To that end, ESPN has delivered the goods.

Thus, Druley says she has no intention of turning LHN into some kind of Big 12-centric network, as if that’s a cure-all in the current expansion hubbub.

“I’m not in the Big 12 business right now with that network specifically. That’s not the purpose of that network,” Druley said. “I don’t think we have a responsibility to be all things to the Big 12. We have a responsibility to be all things to Texas.”
