I’m not sure I agree with FSU and Clemson getting almost nothing. This was a negotiation where both sides needed to look like they got something. The ACC bought itself a few years of relative quiet, and FSU/Clemson got a workable number that makes leaving the ACC entirely possible. If performance based payments are based on ratings, then they made out there as well. FSU and Clemson will almost always be cashing the biggest checks without making it look like The Boston Colleges and Wakes are being completely extorted.

Where are they going?

We know where UNC and UVa are going - the P2. But where are Clemson and FSU going?

Hopefully its an incredibly embarrassing series of highly public meetings w/o a P2 invite followed by a humbling tour of the B12 with a special deal - a clone of the ACC prize money unbalanced package. The B12 will be getting their media deal repriced at that point while the ACC will be bound to their refreshed deal through spring 2036 (I believe, although was this ever confirm anywhere?). The B12 $$ might not be too much higher in $$, but will it give the big egos at Clemson/FSU the stroking Greensboro wont do?

Hopefully its an incredibly embarrassing series of highly public meetings w/o a P2 invite followed by a humbling tour of the B12 with a special deal - a clone of the ACC prize money unbalanced package. Never underestimate the amount of ego stroking that Greensboro has done for Clemson and Florida State. You just need to look at Louisville sitting in our seat there.

One thing folks are overlooking with the Big 12 is that they are pretty maxed out, even compared to the ACC. Yorkmark seems to understand that which is why he was looking at UConn in the first place, even if he was undermined by the media, a sitting senator and his cow college presidents who have an inflated view of themselves after simply surviving by going to market before the Pac12.

No one is going to break the bank for the Big 12 in 2030 and the ACC will almost certainly still be in a better position even if they lose UNC and UVa. Fox is already paying $65M a year for the state of Kansas….that feels like enough.

Personally, I just want bad things to happen to all of them.

Can't argue with much here. Sports media rights might still be frothy and insane for college football (top 2-4 conf) come 2030 or it might finally be at a plateau. I just don't know. If there isn't a bump, say 20-50%, then agreed FSY/Clemson are stuck in the ACC through 2036. The B12 will need bump money to get a fish on.

But, this past season's TV ratings don't support your statements as Big 12 football had more eyeballs then the ACC. This was from a previous post and this includes FSU and Clemson so if Clemson and FSU left, the Big 12 would have far and away better TV ratings than the ACC.

It seems 18 is probably the number unless one of the P2 add more. But I agree, given unequal revenue sharing plus the 3 newbies in the ACC getting nothing, it would seem to make sense to invite UConn now at a greatly reduced cost.
