I seem to recall Vital was the lowest rated of his heralded class? The teams played soft imo.If the AAC handicapped Ollie and sped up his dismissal, then chalk one up for the AAC. BTW Polley, The Wrench and Vital showed something when they worked with another coach. Ollie's player development skills were atrocious. I still feel bad for Daniel Hamilton, he was here at the wrong time.
Whaley wasn't even rated.I seem to recall Vital was the lowest rated of his heralded class? The teams played soft imo.
Geno hated the AAC. But people should continue discussing how great the AAC was for women’s basketball.
I think the Big10 said they took Wash and Ore because they were able to get them at a discount. They TV partners were only going to give so much for those 2 and that’s what the Big10 gave them. If they couldn’t come in on a discount, they would have waited until this contract expired before they were going to bring them in. The ineptitude of the PAC in their media negotiations (turned down what the Big12 got) really hurt them.Remember when the B1G added UCLA and USC. Many said there was no rush to do anything else but the B1G grabbed Oregon and Washington straight away. Once the cat is out of the bag things move quickly.
Creating a CFB NIT ensures G5s are left out of the CFP
A lot of D1 schools don't really want to be D1. They're not actually competing for championships at this level. They can't. They know they can't. They welcome the divide.I think they have figured that out already, which is why they are discussing a CFB NIT.
Sounds like perfect situation for all schools above top 50. Does anybody think UConn football will be able to play for a Football National Championship? Agreed. They can dream... and maybe the winner of that "NIT" gets a wild card entry of some sort. But they have no other shot. They don't have the money, and the system will make sure they don't get into the playoff even if they have a dream season.I think they have figured that out already, which is why they are discussing a CFB NIT.
A second rung tournament is a nonstarter for any program that doesn't consider itself a clownshowI think they have figured that out already, which is why they are discussing a CFB NIT.
Agree. Why should UConn be in the Jv league while Rutgers, Indiana, wake forest etc. Be in the varsity?A second rung tournament is a nonstarter for any program that doesn't consider itself a clownshow
Good question... one that should have been addressed a decade or so ago.Agree. Why should UConn be in the Jv league while Rutgers, Indiana, wake forest etc. Be in the varsity?

Records since 2019 (excludes 2020 due to UConn cancelling the season):Agree. Why should UConn be in the Jv league while Rutgers, Indiana, wake forest etc. Be in the varsity?
They all suck but we pile up natties in Men’s and Women’s bball like cordwood. We are also pretty good at football when given a level playing field.Records since 2019 (excludes 2020 due to UConn cancelling the season):
Rutgers 18-32 Winning Seasons - 1
Indiana 17-32 Winning Seasons - 1
Wake 31-21 Winning Seasons - 3
UConn 12-37 Winning Seasons - 0
