I think you are supposed to create a sock if you are going to do this.

You’re right , since the over 1000 presidents of non P4 schools apparently haven’t any intestinal fortitude I don’t suspect anything will get done.It is, but the almost all the of revenues that the NCAA has are from the basketball tournament and the proposed settlement is with the NCAA. That said, there should be an annual payment coming from the CFP to help fund the settlement.
Since everyone ignores the intent of this thread, I’ll add to it. Interesting rumblings going on
Is there anything more annoying than the "I'm hearing things, but I can't tell you what they are, or where I'm hearing them but they are definitely things and I'm definitely hearing them" post? Minimally, one would think that you could post either the rumor, or the source e.g., "there are credible rumblings that we are being looked at by the Big Ten" or "I'm hearing that news could be coming soon from a decent source in the AD's office."
If you can't do either one of those things, why bother posting? Basically those posts are either trolling or the poster jumping up and down saying "look at me I'm important."
Agree. I might all certain that ESPN isn't going to decide to "big east" the ACC, stripping out the most valuable teams, moving them to other conferences and then lowballing the remaining members. Under that scenario, Connecticut to the ACC might make sense for ESPN to underwrite. The rumblings are probably the same ones I’ve heard. The ACC leftovers and ESPN are preparing to replace 4 schools. If we can get in on an ESPN supported ACC 2.0, it’s probably the best realistic option. The support of ESPN is critical to keeping the other members intact.
It's so hard to say because it really says nothing verifiable. But, for whatever reason, it did seem credible. This seems rather significant.
Josh Pate: 'Reconstruction of the ACC is Imminent'
In a recent podcast episode, Lake Kick’s Josh Pate discussed the inevitability of the ACC being reconstructed. Pate explained a gif he recently shared on social media, implying that the ACC’s road ahead will not be easy to stay true to. “Yeah, I think the ACC is kinda sorta screwed,” Pate...www.heartlandcollegesports.com

Lol, stop pretending to be an insider.Stop whining.
Lol, oops. I touched a nerve apparently. When I was calling out the fake insiders, it wasn't aimed at you. Well, not just you...Stop whining.
Lol, stop pretending to be an insider.
Now or never…
I hope AD David Benedict isn't pulling a Warde Manuel and has gone into full monitoring mode. he seems more productive than that.Oh I’m not an insider. But I also live in Big 12 country. And I definitely heard something. It’s not specific enough to believe. At first I thought it was just an echo from last summer but it’s been since then…
I prefer the ACC by the way. Which still seems more likely to me.
With all of this churn do you really think the schilling is sitting on its hands monitoring the situation?

You really should have created a sock for this.

We've just been burned so much by this process that I find it more sensible to keep a healthy skepticism. Still, it's always good to hear there are rumblings.
I have to say I am pretty ambivalent about the choice between the big 12 and the ACC, especially considering that, as far as I am aware, we don't have an offer from either. The ACC is a better geographic fit with some historic rivalries and some good basketball schools, plus football teams that we can potentially compete with.
That said, I'm not sure what will be left after the ACC gets gutted. I think the big 12 is likely to be the more stable conference, ironically enough, because it doesn't seem like anybody really wants their members.
Both conferences have yanked us around so, truth be told, I hate them both. Still, I would be grateful for a membership invite to either. Any port will do in a storm, I guess.
TL;DR: I am fully in favor of taking the first P4 offer we get. Shocking, I know.Ok not reading all that. Sounds nice.
Nah. Just because someone is talking to someone doesn’t mean anything will happen.
There is just no way that everyone in the G5 isn’t blowing up phones in the Big 12 and ACC.
What new has happened? FSU and Clemson want to get out of the ACC. Good for them. The SEC does not want or need them, and the Big 10 is never going to offer full share memberships again, especially to two schools that do not have other options. Maybe they will get more than they did in the ACC, but at the cost of a schedule that their fans don't care about.
