Is it fair to say Dom Amore isn't a UConn fan? Dom Amore lists all the Boomer reasons why NYC is actually not pro-UConn and the podcast/YouTuber follows up with "I'm 26, people my age when you say Big East basketball Madison Square garden THE NEWER GENERATION we think UConn we think Shabazz Napier, we think Kemba Walker ... that's kind of what we grew up with and that's a big part of that"

Can tell you respectfully, it appears aaron does not understand what an influencer is and these coaches have a lot of influence. Keep in mind each school has 2. It’s funny that he discredits the basketball coaches and then throws football out there. We don’t need everyone to vote yes. Anyone know what type of majority is required in the B12?

Who peed in aaron’s cheerios?

Then, when UConn fans travel to Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas for football games, they can bring some pizza from Sally's or Pepe's in New Haven with them. In exchange, we will get some Tex-Mex from our new friends in the Big 12.

I will say this…..Connecticut does barbecue better than they do pizza.

I am impartial as I live in upstate NY where they do not do either particularly well.

He’s right, though…coaches have no input. They’re not even consulted.

We need 9 out of 12 votes.

Under Section 1.5.2(b)(3) of the bylaws, a "Supermajority of Disinterested Directors" must vote in favor of the "Admission of a new Member . . . ." Under Section 1.5.2.2(f) states that a "Supermajority of Disinterested Directors" is 75% or more of all Disinterested Directors. A Director is not a Disinterested Director if he or she represents a school that has "Withdrawn" or is an "Interested Director" as to a particular issue before the Big 12 Board of Directors.

All due respect, if bball coaches actually had any influence in PS5 expansion, we would have been in the ACC already.

Local sports media is a shell of what it once was

Amore is clueless. If he receives five emails a season from "fans" asking about dropping football that is a lot and they'd all be from the same person.

Also, callung St John's New York's college basketball team is like calling Army New York's college football team. It may have applied at one time but that is so far in the past that few remember. Also, Pitino better do something quick because I doubt he'll last past 75 on the recruiting trail.

I think they “key” takeaway here is that UConn is “in the mix” in quotes. And if ADs are gauging their coach’s interest — to make an informed recommendation to their president — then this is all very real. Aaron is correct that the coaches aren’t making the decisions, but I do not think he’s reading the messaging correctly and the main takeaway is that this is very good for UConn’s shot at the big 12.

Even if we don't join now, it's pretty clear the door is open to us in the future. This is way better than getting the door slammed in our face by the ACC.
The press we are getting is generally positive. Last two times we went thru this we were laugh and scoffed at
