One of the regular "sources" on this board DM'd me about this guy a week ago, said the staff was high on him. He didn't post it here for whatever reason and he – like most of the other sources – has been scarce since the Wilson thing.
Thanks for the heads up. This kid seems legit.

People get way too caught up on these sources. Obviously the certain few have some good connections, but sometimes things don't always pan out. Cant fault them for relaying the message.

I'm a native Chicagoan and I'll say that locals don't have this impression. There's a reason Gino's is the best known. It's excellent if you like this style of pizza and Giordano's is very good as well. I've never been a fan of Malnati's although I know several who are. I've had it only twice, over cooked both time and haven't been back.

I never lived there but my wife is from there and the couple of times we had Geno's East is wasn't impressed as I was with Giordano's or Lou Malnati's. Of course it all comes down to your taste buds.
I still prefer Pepe's pizza and Modern pizza to all other

Threads like these are why I tell people even though my last name is Italian, I'm only 1/4th.
Hmm, that would explain why I only like 25% of your posts.

Let's hope he makes it to Connecticut and likes everything about it and commits. Of course he has to make it out of Indiana first

FYI it looks like Jalen and CV are back on campus (at least for now) would be good if they're around to show him the ropes a bit during the visit

Pretty exciting stuff, this kid might be better than both mal and waters, and we are in his top 4 essentially. He tags Nike basketball in every IG post of his so maybe there's something there...

Except he's probably not. We're taking about top 40 pgs.

I don't think so. Much less of a playmaker and likely just a shooter as a freshman. If we're lucky he'd be able to match Vital's 2016-17 production.

He played in the second best pro division in Italy vs grown men and produced (double digit scoring). Not only that, he was the best player on a Italy team that finished 3rd in a competetive fiba u18 euro championship.
That Germany team he scored 17 vs and dished out 6 assists had a current NBA first rounder on it (hartenstein). Also went head 2 head with frank ntilikina , a potential top ten pick this year.

He was playing pretty high level comp in those videos, no? Isnt that the same tournament Diallo, Fultz, etc. played in? I have no idea if he's as good as Mal/waters but I imagine a lot of people don't.

that was fiba americas in chile. This was the European championships, which had better teams and long term pro prospects imo.

No doubt that there's some great international talent on those FIBA teams, but they still would lose to the top college teams each year, who have one and dones and older players on them (compared to the FIBA teams). I'm sure he's talented, but I'm not sure he's a top 50 player in the 2017 class like you're saying. I think he can produce right away, I just don't want to get carried away with the extent.

I'm pretty confident MAL or Waters would be the best player on that U18 team, but I can't prove it so whatever.

Tremomt yes. Makai im not so sure. He was intriguing because of his potential. He needed a lot of developing

As good as TW or MAL? No. He will still be good though, and he won't have to do any major ball handling or anything of the sort. He can take his time, like Neils did, and then be a productive role player until he is possibly a future starter.

Whoever we're recruiting at the time being is always the best prospect. It's simple. If the Italian commits elsewhere and we move onto plan Z for 2017-18, that new recruit will be the best unheard prospect in the entire '17 recruiting class.

EDit: forgot to mention that if he goes elsewhere he instantly becomes a bum and long term project

Yeah, the TW/MAL comparisons are foolish. If he was that good, he wouldn't be going to college. Just saying. I still want him on the team, of course.
