Is Hurley Really The Answer?

Doesn't matter who is thin skinned or thick skinned. Some of the things posted on here are no different than bullying. Hope if you have kids they don't grow up thinking that putting others down is ok.

One thing is becoming clear. Whether Hurley is the man or not, some in the Ollie brigade like yourself will be actively rooting for him to fail. That's what you are reduced to. Sad.
I will be rooting for UCONN to win regardless but I know Hurley is not the answer.

Jesus. Now I remember why I didn't post much this year, and was more on the Cesspool than the Men's Board when I did.

We got people who think the NBA should only run Hoosiers style offense, who think an A10 school whose tallest player is 6'8 should be ashamed by getting run off the court in the second round of the tournament by a team with a few lottery picks--but who didn't seem to care our guy got run off the floor by MEMPHIS (who FIRED THEIR COACH)--I mean, this place is astounding...

Really?

We had the best guard in the entire tournament in Shabazz and the best defensive guard in the country in Boatright. Our smallball was a great matchup against UK, URI's version is a horrible matchup vs Duke.

Duke is better at everything compared to URI. Better shooting, better bigs, better guards, better coaching.

Our 2014 squad had much better guards, better shooting and, I can't believe I'm actually saying this - better coaching. We also out-rebounded UK IIRC.

Sorry, basketball is just a wee bit more nuanced than you're making it out to be.

I don't have time to sit here and write every little detail. You guys take one thing one says and twist it around.

Falling back on the title as why the KO of March 2018 is better than all of these candidates is embarrassingly lazy.

I've been one of the loudest and most annoying arguers on behalf of KO getting the credit for 2014, so I think I have some credibility in saying this; he is not the same coach he was back then, in terms of game-planning, player development, and putting in the requisite effort in all areas of the job. He was great back then, and the performance of the past two years has shown he can no longer replicate those peaks of success.

Let me be the first to say get help. Yikes.

I'm perfectly fine. Some people here think it's ok to treat others like crap. I'm just giving an example of the world we live in unfortunately.

As coach K said at halftime. Duke has been making shots and URI hasn't. The coach can't shoot it for them. Duke is much better team as they should be. Hurley would be a great addition to uconn. Let's face it he can't be any worse then KO. No offense, defense, recruits the past couple years.
Sounds like everyone vs us this year.

LOL wow. Not only factually incorrect but completely insensitive and borderline psychotic. You should probably take a break if you can't handle backing up your absurd opinions
D move.

Don't hedge now @intlzncster. Hurley better be as good as gold if he's the coach at UCONN. There is many people on this board that worships Hurley and thinks he is closest thing to God. He coached in the A 10 which is much worst than the American. His team would have finished under .500 if they were in the American this season.
I haven't gotten any sense whatsoever that anybody, let alone "many people" (written with mismatched verb form), think Hurley "is closest thing to God." This, plus @Kathy 's Like, and @UConn_Top_Dog' s general foolishness in this thread leads me toward believing that between 1-3 of them are trolling. I'll play safe and say 2, but that doesn't mean I'm complimenting the 3rd.

Im just stating facts. Bullying is not ok. And it may take extreme examples to make a point sometimes. Doesn't mean one is psychotic. You need to chill out and leave people alone.

The guy isn't even our coach yet and people are complaining. It wasn't fair to complain about Ollie after six years but it's not even year one yet and the Ollie pollyanas already want Hurley gone. The cognitive dissonance is astounding.

People are not complaining about Hurley, at least I'm not. I like Hurley. I just question whether Hurley is the best choice. It seems like so many have decided he's the anointed one and attack anyone who questions whether Hurley is the best choice. There should be room for differences of opinion without the constant put downs and attacks.
