Indiana & other top teams go down (merged thread)

IU is not a poser. But they are eminently beatable, as is Stanford. @Tonyc and I have been saying this year’s Huskies could surprise everyone, and the rest of you dismissed us as dreamers. Well , we are dreaming… of great things. And it doesn’t hurt that the top teams are in as much disarray now as seven been in for the past few weeks. We may get back to the FF not because we dominate but because everyone else falters.

Indiana totally fell apart when OSU started pressing. Nothing could be less unexpected, but they had five- and ten-second calls, tie-ups, and bad passes. It seemed that they kept trying the same set and kept losing the ball.
Their coach was voted the best in the conference. She lost that game for her team. Unbelievably bad game management in the last five minutes.

Instead of talking about who lost it would be faster to talk about who won. I don't see how UCONN isn't a 1 seed if they win the Big East and have a couple more somewhat impressive wins. I am glad Villanova pulled out their game so the final will be a couple top teams. So many teams can't find the extra gear in the tournament and that is one strength for UCONN.

I agree. If UConn wins the BET, I think they have a better resume than Stanford, Utah, LSU, and whoever doesn't win the B1G tourney. I could see South Carolina, Indiana, UConn and B1G winner being the 1 seeds, with the B1G being in the bracket facing South Carolina.

Wow, Indiana, Stanford, and Utah go down. The seeding will be interesting after this weekend.
Don't the people who vote and select normally ignore what happens in Conference Tournaments (especially when it comes to teams that lose)?

they are struggling like we do
I'm surprised because Stanford has been the "class" of the Pac-12 for years. They ALWAYS field one of the best teams in the conference. They are very hard to beat at home. The Pac-12 Women's Conference Basketball Tournament is being played at the Michelob Ultra Arena inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Home of the Las Vegas Aces. The Pac-12 along with 3-4 other conferences play their post-season tournaments in Las Vegas every year...including the Mountain West Conference, home of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels. :)

Let’s see, per most recent Bracketology (rankings are ESPN/Coach’s poll)

1 Seeds
1. South Carolina, W 80-51 Old Miss
2. Indiana, L 75-79 14. OSU
5. Maryland, L 84-89 7. Iowa
6. Stanford L 65-69 19.UCLA

2 Seeds
4. LSU L 67-69 Tennessee
3. Utah L 58-66 Washington State
8. Virginia Tech W 58-37 13. Duke
7. Iowa W 89-84 5. Maryland

3 Seeds
10. Notre Dame L 38-64 Louisville
9. UConn W 69-39 Georgetown
13. Duke L 37-58 8. Virginia Tech
14. Ohio State W 64-38 2. Indiana

Notre Dame and Duke fell with less than 40, is this High School Basketball ???
No!! It's March. Strange things happen this time of year. Like Notre Dame and Duke scoring less than 40 points, and unranked Tennessee knocking off # 4 ranked LSU. The NCAAT is going to be crazy (and fun to watch) this year. I can see an unranked (at large) team or two playing way over their head, and sending a much higher-seeded team home early. I'm calling it now!!! There WILL BE some mild upsets and some shocking upsets in this tournament. Watch out for that Darkhorse. Just because you're a 1 seed does not mean you can't be sent home early. Look at what happened to the projected #1 seeds today.

You just have to avoid being in South Carolina plan, then being a Final Four bond is able
Nobody wants to be in South Carolina's bracket. Teams have a 75% chance of NOT being in their bracket. Woe to those that are. :(

Our EXTRA gear is named Azzi Fudd.;)

Creme just posted and then deleted a tweet saying:
'Well really, we had TN properly ranked back in the preseason, so a #4 v #5 match up can really go either way and LSU should not be penalized for being on the losing end. I said all along that TN should be a top 10 team and at worst a 4 seed.'

A clear offensive foul, particularly since it was right in front of the official. That call needs to be made much more frequently.
At least Kim didn't go out on the court like she did in last year's Tournament walking out half way to yell at the ref. She should have been T'd up on it.
