With Hailey Van Lith, 'closer to home' can in some ways be answered simply by any Pac12 team - generally 4 games in the NW each year, plus quicker trips to 4 more in California if playing in front of family is a consideration. Add in west coast OOC which is pretty standard for Pac12 teams and it creates a lot of games even if they are 'road games.' So people should expand the high interest schools beyond the WA on OR teams. And I suspect that is what Hailey Van Lith is looking at. (And while Stanford doesn't generally take undergrad transfers, Hailey Van Lith is applying for grad school.)
With Betts ... who knows what she is looking for. The assumption is that it is all about minutes, but I go back to the fact her recruitment was an exercise in remote contact under covid restrictions. It may be personality clashes, campus life, and any other life issues are as big or bigger than the actual court time in her mind.
And Morrow is the forgotten name here and speculation has pretty much disappeared with Hailey Van Lith/LB's announcements. In terms of what she brings to a team in terms of size, scoring, and experience, she might be the most impactful in next season.
