She's the embodiment of vengeance...one of a few roaming around...
Arya has always been my favorite character, but her story was always about potential. Now the promise is being fulfilled.

Depends what you mean by the best. Those not vying for the throne are also in The Game. For my money, Varys is the best player. Information is king.
Joffre would be less gross. They were both at the younger end of teenagedom. Still want to see Littlefinger's head on a pike next to Cersei's.
An underlying theme in the books is that the value of honor is questionable in the quest for power...and so far it has appeared worthless sans some deus ex machina intervention like Snow's resurrection(s)...Arya is another variation...in fact, when you look at Bran, Benjen, the Dragons, etc....there doesn't seem to be a non-venal path to the throne without a little help from the gods...
Loras is supposed to be one of the greatest fighters in the seven kingdoms, the actor looks like a little kid.
Just as he is described, young, slight of build . . . . Also a great "tournament" fighter, not necessarily when it matters.
Yeah, they're the winning side. There's never been any question on that. Doesn't change the fact that Danny is as worthless as a box of rocks and shoulda been killed off long ago.
Varys got run out of Westeros after his schemes with Ilyro failed and failed again. He sought to bring peace to the realm, while Littlefinger sought to sow chaos and opportunity. Who has performed better by their own standards?
Nuff said. You lose because you were foolish enough to side with Adub over Spartacus. Poor fool.

Varys seems to have ended up with far more opportunity than Littlefinger. One is striding at the head of a great fleet, to live in a massive Island castle with mild climate, with a legit fireproof queen, an army of horse warriors, mercenaries, and neutered lunatics, and a bunch of dragons.
The other is stuck in a blizzard, in a dark keep in the middle of a permanent blizzard, with little food nor warmth, a bunch of miserable dudes in shabby black clothing, an army of very smelly crazy people, and the only chicks are a couple of kids, a 7 foot tall butch behemoth, and a hot young biscuit who hates your guts. Oh, there's the matter of a damn near indestructible army of dead people marching down on your position to cut your in two.
Its a marathon not a sprint, noobatron. We will see which one is left standing and if there is peace instead of Chaos and opportunity.
Neither Littlefinger nor Varys are real players for the throne. Varys, like Tyrion, is best observing and advising.
You are right, those are better descriptors. But have some self awareness- influencing and orchestrating are great roles without the risk of actually sitting on the Iron Throne. Being king is pretty straightforward: have the right bloodline or be the guy that kills the previous bloodline. Littlefinger and Varys are neither. But again- kudos to them for making the most of the hands they've been dealt. They just shouldn't delude themselves that they have a real shot at the Throne.'Influencing' or 'orchestrating' are better words. If you are influencing/orchestrating, as Varys and Littlefinger are doing, you are part of The Game. You don't think Tywin Lannister was a player? All you need to do is influence or control to get your name in the hat.

Sansa tooYou sell Dany short. She was worthless, but she's learned well. You have to give her props for burning up all the Dothraki leaders and walking out alive (and naked). She keeps getting better at this, just as Jon does.

In a just world Littlefinger would.

Maybe... juuuuust maybe... there's room for Sansa to grow up to be somewhere between the naive little girl in Season 1 and Cersei. You guys bring up something that gnaws at me in regards to Dany and Sansa. I think there is an evil side to both that are emerging for us to see. That may be Martins final statement. That absolute power corrupts absolutely.
You can see Tyrion bristling at some of Dany's decisions already. He keeps mentioning her fathers insanity to her as a way of getting her to think, and so far shes been pretty compliant to Tyrions counsel but you can see her getting a taste for blood. She does have a pretty decent ruthless streak that may become more developed.
Sansa. This first episode is a hard turning point in Sansa's storyline that has been mildly at play since her escape from Ramsay. Sansa is a vindictive bitch who wants to make people suffer. She made victim noises for 5.5 seasons and has finally snapped. It was all right in front of us. Her questioning Jon. Her preferring Revenge to common sense in the case of the Umbers and Karstarks. And most of all that little bit about her talking about Cersei and saying "I learned alot from her" . Sansa is BECOMING Cersei.
And if you need anymore proof I saw this on twitter yesterday, do you think it is coincidence in that in the exact scene where Sansa talks about "I learned alot from her" that she is looking like this?

On dragons...the key phrase...Yup. Stupid Danny just bounces around the Far East, barely interacting with anyone in the main story, and she is going to swoop in on dragons and rule.

He would be the Pod to your BrienneIf Spartacus was a GoT character, who would he be?
I would say Theon.
