I believe in meritocracy and Littlefinger is simply the best. No one can rival his singleminded focus, ability and skill. But for the bed he was born in, he would already be King.

Varys plays the game better than littlefinger so YOU lose.

Snow almost got his army destroyed by Ramsay because he is an idiot, and now he is engaging in more idiocy. The point of those meetings of the Lords is to flesh out problems, and I think Sansa was correct in pointing out that the Umbers and Karstarks deserved to be punished. The Karstarks in particular have been -holes from the start.

Snow is just a scalitoing idiot and will get everyone killed unless Bran, Sansa, Davos or someone else stops him.

Sansa > Jon Snow at this point.
Snow is still the character left exploring the question of whether a ruler can succeed in the GOT if you've got too much heart...he's had to be raised from the dead once already, which indicates the author's view...

Jon is not repeating the mistakes. He needs bodies to take on a Zombie army. Every body available (just said it the scene before, women and children need to fight too) why is he going to worry about the Umbers or the Karstarks right now when a Zombie army is bearing down on you? Jon is thinking big picture. Stupid Sansa is thinking little picture. Maybe after the biggest threat in Westerosi history is dispatched of, he can have the luxury of worrying about who did or didnt follow the Starks into a bumbled war. Jon realizes this.

Jon (rightfully so) would enlist Cersei if it meant more bodies against the Walkers.

Absolutely. There is no time for petty grievances. The war is humans vs. other (presumably with dragons on the side of humans).

The other lords of the north are likely not entirely committed to that war . . . I'm sure many of them see opportunities to gain power and influence.

Not quite. Cersei burned him out. The Boltons totally screwed and fooled him. He hasn't outsmarted Varys as far as I can tell. And he is/was obsessed with a woman you just admitted was an imbecile and the bane of her family. However clever he thinks he is, he's a wuss.

As a meritocracy, you could argue Tyrion would likely be a better king than the rest. But realistically, nobody is perfect. Dany, mixed with Jon, with Tyrion advising, is a solid team. I think that's the eventual winning side.

Small minded fools who will soon learn the error of their ways.

Listen to the lyrics from the dumb Ed Sheeran scene.

For those who are too lazy:

Hands of Gold

He rode through the streets of the city,
Down from his hill on high,
O’er the wynds and the steps and the cobbles,
He rode to a woman’s sigh.
For she was his secret treasure,
She was his shame and his bliss.
And a chain and a keep are nothing,
Compared to a woman's kiss
For hands of gold are always cold,
But a woman’s hands are warm

And here's a little idea for you to chew on. The secret meaning of Ed Sheeran's Game of Thrones character - and the song he sings

Arya was training to be a mass murderer in Season 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Now she is a mass murderer, and it is glorious.
She's the embodiment of vengeance...one of a few roaming around...

Ned knew enough to stay out of the South. It took the combined efforts of the greatest man in Westeros and the dumbest Stark of them all to get him to accept Robert's offer --Catelyn

So you're saying Ned's a . Total bitch boy.

Depends what you mean by the best. Those not vying for the throne are also in The Game. For my money, Varys is the best player. Information is king.

Look. I'm contractually obligated to 'like' a boob grab. But that doesn't take away from the fact that Sansa is the most overrated 'minx' in the show. Is what it is.

Littlefinger is a sick pedophile.

Just as vengeance is part of that cultural world, as you pointed out before, so is marrying off underage chicks (and dudes). Sansa and whatever age she is at this point is ripe for the picking.

Ned Stark was Exhibit A of how far honor gets you in The Game, in Martin's opinion. Mine too.

Jon Snow is Exhibit A on what dumb luck gets you. Luck trumps all and is one of the most interesting facets of The Game.

And he unlike Littlefinger is incorruptible by his own baser desires. Littlefingers hots for the ginger nightmare are going to get his thoat slit. Thats not sound game play.

Question for Book Readers (and this is casting not story related, not a spoiler)

Is the guy the got to play Euron the worst casing of the series. He is NOTHING like the book. They hit it out of the park with much of their casting. A couple fails; Dario #1 comes to mind, but they fixed that.

Euron is NOTHING like this guy they cast or are writing.

This show still really grabs me for the tables they have set but the dialogue and some character choices since they went ahead of the books seem more like B movie material.

Loras is terrible too

An underlying theme in the books is that the value of honor is questionable in the quest for power...and so far it has appeared worthless sans some deus ex machina intervention like Snow's resurrection(s)...Arya is another variation...in fact, when you look at Bran, Benjen, the Dragons, etc....there doesn't seem to be a non-venal path to the throne without a little help from the gods...

Jon Snow would be the ultimate paradox here, since he is exceedingly lucky, and yet still overly concerned with honor.
