Questions for the Gamecock fans in the know. What's the status of Cordosa ? I know she has an injury but is it a long term injury or something else ?

She was kept out yesterday by an upper body injury. Dawn said in post game that she doesn't see the injury keeping her out of the SECT.

Pretty sure she's ok. Dawn said as much without saying for sure.

Haven't seen anything official on Cardoso's injury, which is expected as Coach Staley keeps things tight in that regard. Most likely we'll hear something about it this week leading up to the SECT, perhaps during Staley's weekly presser which should be held by Wednesday at the latest.....

I don’t mind! Payback from 2018

I have a feeling that UConn will be bumped up to a 2-seed by tournament time (probably replacing Iowa State or Michigan). I'm not sure how that will affect the placement, if so, but I have a feeling the placement of the 2-3 seeds in the Greensboro region could be vastly different when the regions are revealed.

Gamecock MBB missed on Ja Morant so badly that he went to a small School even after visiting USC. [Murray State KY]. Everybody knows about the incredible back yard training regimen his father put him through that gave him the foundation to become a superstar. It now seems that he is taking the same steps with his daughter Teniya [Tee Ni Yuh] Morant. She is about 5ft7 rising Jr. Combo Guard. Attending school in TN. He pulled her off the HS Girls Basketball team saying that she needed to step back and start from scratch to develop . So this AAU season-she could be a riser. Now she will be class of 23 or as I like to call it "the Fulwiley Year". Given that the family is from Dalzell , SC originally [Shout out to Ray Allen]-I wonder if she gets coach Staleys interest this summer? The video below is of her training with their dad.

One more thought on Teniya Morant. Kudos to the dad for wanting her to earn a scholarship as opposed to getting one because her brother is Ja Morant.

There is no way Uconn is the weakest three Seed. Is this how it works..the weakest 2,3,4 seeds are in our bracket ?

Per volfans...naw. After they beat SC in the SEC tourney...they'll be a 2 seed.

The strongest 1 and 3 seed, and the weakest 2 and 4 are the way that is set up.

Anybody found the Missouri WBB fan board yet? I want to go over there and give the resurrected Voldermort to Harry Potter-Godrics Hollow Graveyard Speech. lol

I get Fawn as COY, but would not have been upset if one of the newcomers got it

I would have. You work your butt off to get to #1, then people think your job's too easy. Kind of like saying Aliyah shouldn't be POY because she is surrounded by All-Americans. Isn't coaching a combination of recruiting, development, managing the roster and X&O's? Nobody did that better than Dawn. I rest my case. ;)

And she has her team 27-1 against the toughest schedule in the country. Everyone is casually glossing over that fact.

I don't care what needs to happen. The committee will find a way to get UConn to Bridgeport. Either way, it doesn't matter.. we're going to need to go through one of Stanford or UConn for the title, perhaps even both. I'm sure of it. Bring it.

Yep. Before the season started:

"How is Dawn going to give minutes to all those players?? I bet several will transfer. The lockerroom will be terrible all season long with unhappy former McDs. It's going to be a huge headache all season long...."

Now:

"Dawn shouldn't get the COY and Boston shouldn't get POY because of all that talent on the roster all season...."

It's like they are trying so hard, searching for something.......

Welcome to our world. Soon, sportswriters will be talking about how you’re bad for basketball

And how weak the SEC ended up being, IMO.

LSU and UF finishing so high is not a sign of strength.

(That UConn ended up having the transfer was sort of ironic given the epic concern trolling)

While I kind of agree with you, I believe the SEC has a pretty good record against OOC competition...Big XII challenge, etc. LSU is senior laden with a great coach. Its not too surprising that they ended up #2.

If anything, I believe the conference is basically where we expected at the beginning of the season -- SC #1 and a hodgepodge of teams below them.

“It’s hard to beat a good team three times in one season’l

Let’s remember that maxim from our days in the old ACC tournament.

Is Old Miss a good team, well they played us tough til the 4th quarter of our last game. (Austin was a beast.) I expect the same this time because our gals are gonna have much fresher legs in the fourth quarter. Nevertheless, this is a huge opportunity and the motivation factor is definitely on the Rebels’ side.

In the big picture it doesn’t matter if we win or lose. Focus gals. Focus!

Go Gamecocks!

Ole Miss played well this season. Shakria Austin is NICE!! The handles, the footwork, and the speed. She is going to be a handful at the pro level. Of course it depends on the team that she goes to and the coaching style. But she is, like you said, a beast! Coach Yo is putting a nice product together at Ole Miss.
