Yeah... Now there are rumors the Charlotte Hornets are interested in or were interested in talking to Dawn Staley. Ppl just will not give this BS up.OMG what has happened to us ? We have been on page 13 for 3 weeks now... Nobody has anything ?
They were all on their instagram stories which only stay up for 24 hours. Follow the girls on insta or Molly Binetti sometimes posts things on twitter as well.Got a link??????? or is this "insider" information from a secret source?
I'm trying to remember who it was that posted a couple of videos of them working out in their IG story.. I'm think one of them who posted it was Brea Beal. Those vids were of them in the weight room and stuff like that. Then there was one of Raven shooting 3 pointers at certain points around the perimeter. I'm sure that was in Raven's IG story as well as a few of the ladies who shared it in their stories, too.Got a link??????? or is this "insider" information from a secret source?
Olivia: I just want her to get ONE start - against Clemson. Start the whole ‘19 recruiting class against Clemson. Saxton can afford one non—start.Thoughts on this coming season? Our roster is likely set so what are some thoughts on lineup projections, depth, and the possibility of repeating?
STARTERS:
PG- Raven Johnson(could easily be Fletcher to start the season) is our point guard of the future! I was told by many that she was our best passer last year before she got hurt and I can’t wait to see her come back stronger.
SG-Zia Cooke. It’s her season! She’s been inconsistent though very solid her first 3 years, no doubt her best year is her last year!
SF- Brea Beal AKA BIG BODY BENZ AKA THE BEST PERIMETER DEFENDER IN THE COUNTRY!!! Another player with a big year coming! All Defensive SEC and AA DPOY finalist.
PF- Victaria Saxton. Personally I would say it’s a split between LA and V here as both are worthy of starting however I think V will be here. Tough, athletic, hustle player she will remain with a sweet midrange jumper to boot.
C- Aliyah “The Goat” Boston will run back everything she’s accomplished already and then some! She will be a woman amongst girls this season!
BENCH:
6th Woman- LA will be one of the most versatile players in the country next year. I see her playing Guard, Wing and Post positions whenever we need to counter against other teams. She could easily be a starter but should still be very good off the bench.
PG- Kierra Fletcher could also be a starter and likely will if Raven isn’t ready by November. She gives us a steady veteran presence that will help ease the loss of Henny.
SG- Talaysia Cooper will likely be the backup to Zia, and a good option. She has length and can play multiple perimeter positions. Her scoring and passing from the wing will be a huge boost for us this season.
SF- Bree Hall will make the sophomore leap and will be recognized for her two way abilities this year.
PF- Sania Feagin (my personal favorite!!) also will make a sophomore leap and should get meaningful minutes for waiting her turn. Very versatile and athletic forward, she will be the checkmate piece in a lot of matchups because coaches are definitely game planning to stop Boston, Cardoso, Sax ,etc. her ability to play on the perimeter or post will add a whole new dynamic!
C- Kamilla Cardosa with a year under her belt in SC’s system I expect her to thrive big time especially with Raven back healthy. Those two have fantastic chemistry. I expect Milla to be a much stronger finisher, rebounder and Man-2-Man defender this year.
RESERVES:
C/F- Ashlyn Watkins. Learning year but has all the potential in the world! Plays above the rim!
SG- Olivia Thompson shooter supreme! I hope she gets more meaningful minutes this year as she’s a very hard worker!
Can this team repeat? ABSOLUTELY I honestly don’t see why not especially with our 2019 core still intact. Personally I think coaches are going to game plan to stop our starters and mainly Boston. Our Wildcards will be the sophomore class and their contributions. If Hall and Feagin make their leaps and Raven come back just as strong as before I think we will not only repeat but possibly have a better record than this past season!

Oregon announced but not scheduled. Not sure who is home and who visits. We may schedule it there around the time of theStanford trip (like Stanford did last year with UT and us)Which non-conference games have been announced or rumored? I think I remember Oregon being announced. Any others?
Killer OOC schedule with Stanford, Maryland and UConn all being away. Is Oregon game supposed to be a neutral site game? And clem... Meh. Not too terribly worried about them.Oregon announced but not scheduled. Not sure who is home and who visits. Clemson
UConn not sure where. Probably at UConn.
at Stanford
at Maryland
According to Oregon, we have agreed to a two year home-and-home beginning this year but the site/date had not been settled the last I heard.Killer OOC schedule with Stanford, Maryland and UConn all being away. The curse of 666 is very real.Interesting jinx numbers to avoid:
Dawn's Final 4 losses
1992, as a player w/Virginia ... loses to Stanford, 66-65
2015, as a head coach at USC ... loses to ND, 66-65
2015 ..................................................... loses to Stanford, 66-65

VotedY'all go vote for Aliyah. There's also a category that mentions UConn beating Stanford in double OT. No other category mentions us. There are 35 different categories to vote on but you can skip any you don't want to cast a vote on. Takes 5 mins tops.
