It is odd but I don’t think it’s a Yale supported t shirt. A lot of the teen clothing stores sell shirts like that (Hollister, Aeropostale, etc). Still could have chosen a different shirt though!

.-.
Bree Hall will not dress out for the game tonight, I'm hearing. She has an illness of something......

Beal and Cooke look like they had good off-season conditioning.

Beal's shot looking faster and more decisive.

Feagin is fast.

Nice second segment for Raven but I'm going to be nervous about that knee.

55-12 at half.

Man, Ashlyn Watkins has good hands.

I still miss Rivers talent but Cooper looks more comfortable than Saniya ever did.

The ceiling on this team is tremendous.

Shooting is a question. Playing a little sloppy.

I had completely forgotten that SCar didn't win the SECT last year. You could have won money off me.

Dawn is right. Everyone looks better.

I think Cardoso is particularly noticeable.

Feagin had 15 points 6 rebounds in about 14 minutes! It’s really scary hours for everyone else!

SCARY HOURS.

And Watkins. And Johnson. Whew.

Everybody was impressive tonight, but I think it’s the contributions from those 3 that’ll put this team in frightening territory.

South Carolina beats East Tennessee State 101-31 to open their season. They next travel to Maryland.

Six Gamecocks finished in double digits for the game: Zia Cooke led the way with 17 pts in 19 minutes on 6-12 shooting, with 2 steals. Sania Feagin added 15 pts in 19 minutes off the bench, on 7-9 shooting, with 6 rebounds. Aliyah Boston added 11 pts on 3-5 shooting, on 20 minutes, with 11 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Victaria Saxton also added 11 pts in 16 minutes on just 1-3 shooting, but also 9-10 at the free throw line. She also had 5 boards. Kamilla Cardoso scored 11 pts as well on 5-6 shooting in 21 minutes, with 5 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal. Freshman Ashlyn Watkins scored 11 pts too in 18 minutes, on 5-7 shooting, with 8 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal.

Red-shirt Freshman PG Raven Johnson had her first game action coming back from her ACL injury that derailed her season last year. She scored 9 pts on 4-10 shooting in 17 minutes, with a team-leading 4 assists and 4 steals.

Altogether the Gamecocks totaled 9 blocks, 13 steals, 20 assists, 56 rebounds, and shot 53% from the field.....

THEY TRIED TO SAY WE DON’T HAVE A PG!!!

Harped on it all season in 2017, particularly on ESPN’s Selection Monday show heading into the tourney. I think we’re in good hands with Raven, Fletcher, and LA. LA looks more comfortable than she did last year. Raven and Kierra will get better as the season goes along.

Looking forward to watching this matchup. Should be very entertaining.

You could question the outside shooting in this one and maybe some decision making at times, but even if it didn't improve from here you'd still make this team the favorite.

I tend to think they'll have better shooting nights.

But I want to see what the minutes look like vs Maryland.

Raven/Fletcher/Cooke/Amihere is more than sufficient though at point guard.

I caught this on demand and SCar will be scary good this year. Dawn was right about Feagin, she looks fantastic. This roster is stocked with tall, long, athletic players; expect to see them lead the NCAA in rebounding again. Once again, outside shooting will be the Achilles heel for this team, but that will be a very small Achilles, because their height, speed, and athleticism will overwhelm almost every opponent they will face.

I could see both LA and Beal staying. I love both but think they each need more development in order to make it in the league.
Laeticia staying another year does make sense from that perspective. It could also benefit her academically since she's already graduate. Leveraging that COVID year to finish a graduate degree (if it's available at South Carolina) would be a huge bonus.

Amihere had some great passes and was very unselfish with the ball. Sometimes she wants to bully herself in the paint and draws charges. I was proud of her last night!

Question for the Gamecocks fans, is there any truth to the rumor that UNC pulled out of the secret scrimmage that was supposed to have taken place last month?
