Xavier lost this game at the Free Throw line.

They have a tough schedule ahead + no Freemantle. They could be in trouble.

Freemantle is a clown sometimes which is why he is so underrated. But he is a dominant college player when Xavier gets him the ball enough. And the corollary is that he is a huge loss when he is hurt.

With all the problems Xavier had, plus the injury to Boum, they still only lost by 2 points last night and even then, Butler needed two terrible goaltending calls to go its way to pull it out. They are still a good team, and I think their bench is improving. They aren't a Final Four contender without a healthy Freemantle, but they are still pretty good.

Providence pulling out the "fall down every time we shoot" strategy a little early.

.-.
Johnnies making everything early.

This St. Johns team has some talent. Jones and Soriano would play for just about any team in the Big East. Curbelo, Mathis and Addae-Wuso and some of the other bench players are not bad for the roles they have. I think Posh Alexander plays completely out of control most of the time, but he has talent.

This season was a missed opportunity for Anderson.

Maybe St John's was onto something when they announced Mike Anderson was returning next year (they weren't)

Sick alley-oop by Posh to Storrs. Not sure it was the highest percentage play, but it looked great.

Don't understand why they blow the whistle when the D gets the ball on a shot clock violation?

If St John's had any idea how to rebound on the defensive end this game would be over.

They also appear to have given up on the idea of being somewhat intelligent on offense. The could have pulled off the upset if they continued running offense like they did earlier in the game.

This better not overlap our game it always seems to happen.

.-.
One thing that is even more obvious now than it was before is that Posh is not an off the ball player. He and Curbelo should not be on the floor together that much. Posh is much better with the ball in his hands often.

Oof, Storr just got called for a foul on Hopkins on about as clean a block as you’ll see. Could be impactful in what is now a 6 point game with 5 minutes left

The “flail and fall” strategy paid off there

Fox showing that graphic of a bunch of BE teams tied with 3 losses then us with 6 losses hurts.

This was extremely evident before the season, too.

.-.
talk about bad fouls Jones 4th was not very smart you put them on the line for 2 with the clock stopped

Neither of those players are good enough to have a style that dictates who they should be on the court with.

Posh Alexander is probably the worst point guard in the Big East but he is athletic so people think he is good.

Providence looks like it’s about to go down to Saint Johns. Minute and a half left. Johnny’s are up by eight.

If St. John’s wins, and our loss to them doesn’t look quite so bad

True, but think about what it does to our Providence loss.

peecee players are perpetually in shock whenever they are called for a foul on defense or don't gat a call on offense.

Lol, yeah, I did think about that, but I figure a loss to a ranked team probably isn’t so bad a thing. St. John’s los was just a head scratcher.

Yeah, people don't really get this.

If two teams are playing, and we've played both teams an equal number of times, it is a net neutral for the computer numbers whichever of them ends up winning.

our start time will still get over lapped need Providence to miss about 3-5 shots on their next possession.

Providence will get called for 25 fouls if they play like this in the Tournament. Big East refs let them get away with murder.

Edit: and now Providence starts playing cheap. Anderson should send a scrub on the court to get in Hopkins' face and see how Cooley like it.

There's a pair of jeans behind the peecee basket I feel sorry for.

Damn I am in Boston so I am going to miss some of the UConn game. Hurry up Providence and St. John’s
