I looked it up and with Boeheim's retirement, Leonard Hamilton at Florida State at 74 and Jim Larranaga at Miami who will be 74 this year are the two oldest D1 coaches. There are a few that are in their late 60s like Tom Izzo, but they are few and far between. Jim Calhoun retired at 69.He will be 71 in September. He also said he wants to coach to 80+. Who does that? There are only a handful of coaches who are even 70.
I was thinking Taliek or Kimani might be candidates for PC?I hope he takes Taliek with him.
Yes! Someone said with Boeheim retiring the 80's BE was finally over, but of course nothing is over until WE decide it is.He’s a sleaze, but with Nosepicker gone, he’s probably the last holdover from the ‘80s coaching fraternity.
I think he said recently he's only looking to coach 6-8 more seasons which i found kind of funny.A 6 year deal at age 70?
I get that, for recruiting purposes, he has to make it look like he'll be around a while, but come on.
When St John's is legit good they have no problem putting a lot of fans in that building.![]()
Slick Rick's face seeing all the UConn fans at MSG for St Johns home game.

And even in the 1998-2000 seasons when both UConn and St. John's were good, UConn had a ton of fans in MSG making it seem like UConn's homecourt.Ok, but that time was 23 years ago.
yeah, and there's even more people in the NYC area now.Ok, but that time was 23 years ago.
FIFYyeah, and there are even more UConn fans in the NYC area now.

Woj bomb!
Honestly, Iona can't go wrong with any of these picks.
Yup, the BE has 3 teams in the Sweet 16 and they are dominating the college basketball news cycle during the off day(s) between the 2nd

Post/professionI don’t know how realistic the comparison to Connecticut really is. UConn includes its coaches in its teachers union collective-bargaining agreement, and that produced a quirky result where the NCAA compliance provisions were completely written out of the agreement.
That said, it’s always better if the parties can come to an it’s always better if the parties can come to a mutual agreement, rather than litigate.
It's always good to have the best competition. This league is stacked and will be right there fighting it out as best league with the Big 12 and SEC. It's going to up the profile of the league and the money in terms of TV, NIL, win share etc.he’ll be a thorn in our side, but i think it’s a good thing for the league and us.
I hope he takes Taliek with him.
