Friendly reminder Rick Pitino is a horrible person and any program willing to hire him after all of his personal and professional scandals in exchange for a few NCAAT appearance is also most likely run by horrible people

A 6 year deal at age 70?

I get that, for recruiting purposes, he has to make it look like he'll be around a while, but come on.
He said he wants to coach until 80

Double whammy for Providence fans who thought for a brief moment maybe Pitino would come back.

He will be 71 in September. He also said he wants to coach to 80+. Who does that? There are only a handful of coaches who are even 70.

An all time day in the Big East. Next season is going to be a bloodbath in the league. As it deserves to be.
Yup, the BE has 3 teams in the Sweet 16 and they are dominating the college basketball news cycle during the off day(s) between the 2nd round and Sweet 16.

He’s a sleaze, but with Nosepicker gone, he’s probably the last holdover from the ‘80s coaching fraternity.

I looked it up and with Boeheim's retirement, Leonard Hamilton at Florida State at 74 and Jim Larranaga at Miami who will be 74 this year are the two oldest D1 coaches. There are a few that are in their late 60s like Tom Izzo, but they are few and far between. Jim Calhoun retired at 69.

Yes! Someone said with Boeheim retiring the 80's BE was finally over, but of course nothing is over until WE decide it is.

I think he said recently he's only looking to coach 6-8 more seasons which i found kind of funny.

He's going to be looking for scalps now that he's back in the high majors. They will be in the tournament immediately.

This league is insane.

This is going to be wild. I expect it to be highly entertaining if nothing else.
