he looks country strong
He exists to be our cupcake smasher, I think. That lumberjack dude from Wagner who ate us up won't be able to move Cobb off the block at all, and Cobb is smart enough defensively to be in the right spots when the ball swings.

I think he'll be less useful against good competition, but he's a level of surety against the kind of embarrassing losses we had this past year.

Also: Nobody should ever expect him to play more than 4 minutes at a time, and even that might be too much unless he gets very, very serious about fitness this summer.

Full games like this:

It's on the Chipola youtube channel.

Okay, give us #3 as well.

Yuat Alok. I can already spell his name and an article on his from his native country states that he is 21cm taller than Michael Jordan so you know he's good.

.-.
This is also a shot across the bow for Enoch. He would have been the starting C by default. This is a direct challenge by KO.

It will be very interesting to see how Enoch responds. Does he toughen up or turtle?

It was KO adding much needed depth. If Enoch takes it as a shot across the bow, then good (he should).

I know very little about him but it will be nice to finally have a kid who can bench more than 175 lbs. Hopefully we bring in a big man coach to work with him and the other guys.
I couldn't agree more about a Bigs Coach.

The most glaring weakness going into next season was going to be front court depth.

No clue if this kid will be any good, but if he can grab some boards we'll have something to work with.
That can be mitigated by playing Larrier at the four and Jackson at the three. Then we really only have to worry about one big.

Enoch has nothing too sweat. This kid needs a lot of conditioning before he plays more min than Enoch.

I didn't get enough of a feel to see if Larrier could handle playing the 4 from a rebounding standpoint.

I think we're likely going to get killed on the glass, but having Enoch and Durham on the floor at the same time doesn't do us any justice on the defensive side of the ball.

I didn't notice Larrier on defense but he was a good rebounder and an athletic freak (which helps with rebounding). IIRC, he could shoot threes too.

Gives Carlton and diarra two years to develop. Why not?

A good point. And elevates the competition in practice for all the frontcourt guys. And now Enoch needs to take the reigns and step up his game and we could start to see some ole-time UConn bangers rebounding and setting up the transition. Doesn't need to give us 30 mins but a solid 15-20 would be great. Best 2nd chance you'll ever get young man. Don't let it slip away.

I just don't recall too many specifics, but I'll take your word for it. If we could get by with Gilbert, Adams, Jackson, Larrier and then a big, I think we'd have something to contend with.

If the kid can get rebounds, set screens and not commit silly fouls then it is a nice fit. I just want to see someone with some size down there for a change.
Enoch has size, he just needs to learn how to play defense. He is quite underrated offensively IMO and has good hands for a big (unlike Brimah Brick Hands).

Welcome Eric. I hope you are the second coming of Tim Duncan.

If you are reading this forum stop. Stop now. No, really. Stop now.

So this is it ha? Are we supposed to be happy? This is the big man addition? Maybe AB's graduation snuck up on the coaching staff?

We will see plenty of 3 guard lineups and Vance can put in time at the 4 as well. This team will be in very good shape if they can get just a single big to pop. Sounds so simple, but we know its not a given.

I'm going to like next year's team better and it's not just because we will win more games. We have a borderline European-type 4 in Larrier (three point shooter but can also post up players) and almost all our guards can shoot, and now we have two beefcakes to rotate at the 5.
