It's been TWO years. Whatever happened to giving someone a chance to figure it out?I don’t think she is on the hot seat. But what about Kate Paye?
Surely, next season needs to be an improvement?
I just gave her next year in my hypothetical. That’s three years. Missing the tournament three years in a row at Stanford is acceptable? Seriously? I know if this happened at UConn with Geno’s replacement, I would want the coach out. It's been TWO years. Whatever happened to giving someone a chance to figure it out?
Comments on a few:We've now had a bit of a lull. Thought we'd have more changes.

I don't think Paye's seat is anywhere near warm at Stanford right now. Given all the factors--the Stanford way, Paye's history at Stanford, what was/wasn't in the cupboard when VanDerVeer retired, the change to the ACC, the NIL landscape at Stanford, transfer portal, etc.--I see Stanford having patience with Paye and the rebuild.I just gave her next year in my hypothetical. Tara left her little and it’s almost impossible to get transfers into Stanford.I just gave her next year in my hypothetical. That’s three years. But it does show you how far Rutgers has fallen. Coaches control most things -- recruiting, culture, teaching of players -- but they can't control institutional support. If you're not taking an interview then it means you think institutional support is so bad that not even John Wooden could succeed there. Not a surprise. It doesn't behoove coaches at schools like Fairfield -- who have had success -- to go to a place like Rutgers at this time. You can probably say the same for the upper echelon of Ivy League teams: Princeton, Columbia, Penn, Harvard.
Purdue to make it 4 in the BIG? 2–10 to finish the year might make it more likely. Few signs of hope.Open P4 Jobs (68 positions)

I dont care about PennSt but was surprised that they werent faster with the trigger, esp since it was a 50/50 call last year.Tell us how you really feel. 😉
Per earlier comment on Kansas State: They just upset ranked Texas Tech, so I don't think the coach is going anywhere.Open P4 Jobs (68 positions)

If they didn't can her during her disastrous first 4 seasons, it would be insane to do it now after they've had 3 relatively solid years.I added Cal. Personally I think they'd be crazy to get rid of her, but someone raised it --perhaps earlier in this thread-- so I've put her on the "watch" list.
I find it odd that a single win (or loss) can seemingly overshadow the rest of a team’s season.Per earlier comment on Kansas State: They just upset ranked Texas Tech, so I don't think the coach is going anywhere.
(Earlier Comment: "Kansas State lost some of its best players ever going into this year and are now sitting at 16-16, following a three-pt. destruction of Cincy. Given that K State just fired their men's coach, I can't see them firing both coaches this year, particularly since Jeff Mittie was over .600 at KSU going into this season and seems to have a solid rep during his 12+ years in Manhattan.")
I get your point about a singular, seemingly "out of nowhere" win or loss, but that's not the case with -- or my argument for -- Coach Mittie. In fact, he's averaged nearly 60% wins over his career at KSU, so I think he's been pretty darn consistent. The win over TT is a very solid one over a ranked team, which shows they can rise to the occasion in a pressurized situation.I find it odd that a single win (or loss) can seemingly overshadow the rest of a team’s season.
The fact that Tennessee beat UConn last year bought Caldwell a lot of grace - even as this season has spiraled downward recently, this win is cited by many of their fans as to why she deserves another year.
I was living near Ann Arbor when Harbaugh was hired. Even when Michigan was winning 11 or 12 games, some wanted his head on a platter because he kept losing to Ohio State.
Crazy IMO.
That's not happening. After losing Suarez to TCU and a senior or grad student to lack of eligibility, I thought they'd be beyond mediocre. In fact, the young squad was tenacious and were competitive. Really hard to beat at home.I added Cal. Personally I think they'd be crazy to get rid of her, but someone raised it --perhaps earlier in this thread-- so I've put her on the "watch" list.
