Not sure what this means.
It's just a thing when a post and the picture you have over your name align. In this case the question of why RU wasn't getting respect seemed to go with Lou's shrug.

Not the best example in retrospect.

Ah, I get it now, so thanks for the explanation.
I think that it was a good example, now that I understand your intent. I guess I should have posted a screenshot of the ESPN2 graphic above my text.:(

On Dec 3 Milford Husky said the Haley Jones effect would the race to Pat close. Now, with Tara and her team turning on the afterburners this year there is no “may” about it.

Back in November looking at the Stanford schedule and the rankings I projected Stanford losing to the following teams during the season: Baylor, Oregon, Oregon State, AZ State(twice), Cal maybe once(remember their ranking then), and Tennessee(barf!). I also expected them to only go one or two deep into their conference tournament and only to the elite eight.

We all know what’s happened so far. Their win against Baylor was scary, especially in comparison to our loss(albeit on a very off night for us). We are lucky Gonzaga was able to ambush them. So I think Geno and the team will have to work hard to cut Tara’s lead in half this year.

As for next year, it should be quite a battle. Very possibly Tara will pass Pat before Geno can overtake her. As for the Jones effect, I believe as next year goes on we will see the “Griffin Effect” take over. As I said in another post a while back, Aubrey has only just begun her organized basketball career as compared to Haley and the other prospects/commits. Because of her still relatively large upside potential, I think she could end up better than my neighbor. So this and the the next and ensuing years should be fun to watch!
I'm sorry to be right. Stanford will miss Smith next year, but their lineup looks loaded. Tara will figure out how to use the talent. I expect Stanford to win about 34 or so next year. If they don't, it may because of further improvement by Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, et al. Tara may have more wins than Geno for at least next year.

Geno has picked up 3 wins on Tara so far this year. How much ground gained from here depends on how deep each team progresses through both Conference and NCAA Tournaments.

.-.
Utah

Utah loses several key Seniors this year, including their best player Megan Huff. Nothing has given any indication that they are the kind of program that reloads every year. They will probably take a step or two back and will take a couple years to be up to the level they are at this year. Although they now seem to be fading this year.

It's tough for Tara that the @WSU game was cancelled last season and the home game vs. Ohio State cancelled this season.

It is true that the cancellation of the Ohio State game means Stanford will play one less regular season game this year. But last year Stanford had scheduled one more regular season game than UConn. Therefore WSU game cancellation only made the playing field even in terms of regular season games available to win.

And if you go back to 2016-17 you find Stanford actually did play one more regular season game than UConn did. So we don’t need to feel sorry for poor Tara. She’s taking good care of herself in terms of opportunities to amass wins.

.-.
I suspect starting next year, Tara will start to add to her lead. With the players she has coming back and her recruits, they will be one of the Top Teams. Meanwhile Geno will be rebuilding, unless he gets a couple of quality graduate transfers and/or international recruits that are ready to play.

If Stanford loses in the Sweet 16 and the Pac 12 semifinals, Geno could tie Tara by the end of this season if he hangs another banner. Both coaches are well positioned to have title contenders for years to come but lose AA seniors to graduation at the end of the year.

That's probably what Oregon St. thought too. UW looks like a totally different team right now.
